His work in the theater included producing set designs for: the Stanislavsky Musical Theatre in Moscow, operas at the Bolshoi: Rimsky-Korsakov, and Giuseppe Verdi Il Trovatore, Rossini The Barber of Seville, Prokoviev's Semion Kotko, and the Story of a Real Man, Arthur Miller's View from the Bridge, at the Moscow Drama Theatre in 1959, Giselle at the Bolshoi, Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, Tchaikovsky's Iolanthe at the Bolshoi, and the Queen of Spades, Bizet's Carmen at the Stanislavsky Theatre, among others. Each production has at least 4 or 5 full-page color plates of Zoloterev's set designs. 19 different productions in all. 11" high X 9" wide, 206 pages. Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company 1898. MacDougall W. B. William Brown. Small quarto. 55pp. Eight woodcut illustrations and each page with black floral borders. A fine rendering of John Keats's poem adapted from Boccacio's Decameron. In it a young woman engaged to marry a nobleman falls in love with a commoner. When her brothers discover their relationship they murder the commoner. Isabella learns of their crime in a dream and distraught exhumes the body and buries the head in the titular pot of basil over which she perpetually weeps. This version is sumptuously illustrated with black borders and romantic imagery of Isabella her lover her brothers and their lush countryside. The effect is pleasingly nostalgic matching the sympathy of Keats's poem. Bound in green cloth over boards with rich gilt tooling to spine and upper cover. Minor general wear to exterior including three red blotches to lower cover. Overall a near fine copy with a clean interior. J. B. Lippincott Company unknown

Shaker Heights OH: Wind and Harlot Press 1986. Delrue Paul C. 12pp. One of twenty-three copies. Keats's ballad of a knight wooed by a beautiful and wild "faery's child" and then abandoned by her haggard and pale on the cold hillside. In a designer binding by Paul Delrue depicting the setting at the poem's beginning and end: the countryside after harvest has ended a barren and empty landscape with a sloping hill and the silhouettes of birds overhead. A rustic fence borders the pale green tan and brown fields all created using Delrue's signature "Lacunose artwork." In this technique Delrue covered the boards first with tan goatskin and then many layers of leather in autumnal hues some puckered and others flat were overlapped and alternately sanded down smooth and varnished with PVA to create various effects. The Lacunose panels are set onto the goatskin background intentionally askew echoing the knight's disorientation and bordered by blind-stamped circles. The endpapers are grey and violet paper handmade by the artist with flecks of gold and silver. In a handmade-paper chemise and a cloth and handmade paper-covered box with a gusseted pocket for the book. Extremely fine. 3 by 2 1/8; 77x53mm. Wind and Harlot Press unknown

Buenos Aires: Colombo 1958. Veroni Raúl. Quarto. 32pp. From an edition of 52 copies this is one of thirty-two copies printed on Ingres. An elegantly-printed bilingual edition of Keats's Odes in English and Spanish each with a full-page lithograph by Raúl Veroni of the poem's subject. The first illustration is signed in pencil by the artist. The collection includes such poems as "Ode on a Grecian Urn" and "To a Nightingale" with English and Spanish versions of the poems opposite each other on facing pages. Veroni collaborated with the prominent Argentinean publisher Francisco A. Colombo for many years beginning in 1937 when he was still a student at the National Academy of Fine Arts. The experience prepared him well to open his own graphic studio in the 1970s. Bound in off-white printed wrappers with original glassine. This is the fourth volume in a series of poetry chapbooks La Cabellera by Veroni. Two small spots of discoloration to rear wrapper and a couple of faint spots to page edges. Very fine. Colombo unknown
