<p>Printed in Wittenberg in 1572 this edition contains Martin Luther's commentary on Genesis chapters 25 through 50. These sermons originated in lectures delivered in the 1530s and reflect Luther's effort to identify references to Christ and the Trinity within Genesis. The printer Schwenck operated in the center of early Lutheran print culture. The folio-sized volume remains in its original tooled vellum binding measuring 12.75 by 8.75 inches with a 4.5-inch spine. This copy is listed in VD16 and USTC bibliographies. Very Good. Tight binding in full vellum with modest wear and visible tooling. Interior shows moderate toning but is complete. The volume includes the Psalms together with Summarien and Denck-Spruechlein intended to accompany devotional reading.
