Trots att det aldrig blev färdigställt är det ändÃ¥ ett av de viktigaste danska topografiska arbetena. Del ett som omfattar Själland med 50 planscher var allt som blev färdigställt. Av del tvÃ¥ som skulle omfatta Fyn blev endast 10 av planerade 88 planscher graverade. Dessa tio är mer sällsynta men Ã¥terfinns här. He did not survive the war but his journals were found in the ruins of the ghetto.</p><p>When the walls of the Warsaw Ghetto first went up in November 1940 Emmanuel Ringelblum was there. As explained on the verso of the title-page 50 percent of sales from this exhibition were to be given to the Merchant Navy Comforts Service. Epstein writes a brief introduction about the works he has selected: “The works in this collection which date from so early as the ‘Marcelle’ 1920 to the Chinese Girl ‘Chia Pi’ Precious Jewel 1942 cover a period long enough to embody at any rate a fairly comprehensive development. The works are all in bronze and reflect immediate reactions to things persons seen and treated realistically and might seem to leave out those larger imaginative carvings and bronzes such as ‘Genesis’ ‘Jacob and the Angel’ the ‘Ecce Homo’ which directly embody abstruse philosophical or humanistic and religious themes. But to my mind and method of treatment the study however small must reflect not only the sculptor’s vision but his most profound inner feeling before embodied form whatever the shape. I would destroy the legend of the ‘dual personality’.â€<br/> <br/> This volume lists 46 paintings sculptures watercolors and drawings all priced. Främre omslaget med spår av borttagen etikett Första upplagan. En andra med författarens namn angivet trycktes 1828. Jacob Gråberg af Hemsö 1776-1847 var diplomat och skriftställare. Femton år gammal gick han till sjöss och tog 1793 tjänst i brittiska flottan vilken han dock tvangs lämna efter en duell. Han var av naturen språkbegåvad och slog sig efter avskedet från örlogstjänsten ned i Genua för studier och bevittnade där stadsstatens möte med Napoleons maktambitioner. Med sina vida förbindelser inom högre kretsar lämpade han sig väl för diplomatien och 1811 blev han svensk vicekonsul i Genua 1816 konsulatsekreterare i Tanger och 1823-28 konsul i Tripolis där han gjorde stora insatser för svensk handelssjöfart under en tid då sjöröveriet grasserade som värst. unknown
