‎First edition of this foundational work in mathematics. In this book Robinson gave the first rigorous formulation of Analysis using infinitesimals. Both Leibniz and Newton had used the notion of infinitesimals when they developed the Differentail and Integral Calculus in the 17th century. As Leibniz argued the theory of infinitesimals implies the introduction of ideal numbers which might be infinitely small or large compared to the real numbers. However, neither he nor his disciples and succesors were able to give a rational development leading up to a system of this sort. As a result, the theory of infinitesimals gradually fell into disrepute and was replaced by eventually by the classical theory of limits. Robinson was the first to show that Leibniz's ideas in fact can be fully vindicated and that they lead to a fruitful approach to classical Analysis. He coined his model ""Non-Standard Anlysis"".‎

‎Baronius's monumental work (with its continuation by Bzovius up to the year 1565) hailed by Roman Catholic writers as the greatest history of the church ever written and Baronius hailed as the ""father of ecclestical history"" (1-12 dealt with Anno 1-1198 and volume13 -20, Anno 1198-1565).""The Annales were first published between 1588 and 1607. This work functioned as an official response to the Lutheran Historia Ecclesiae Christi (History of the Church of Christ). ‎Later expanded edition, first published in 1682, of Wicquefort’s work on ambassadors and international relations in general. From 1626 to 1658, Wicquefort served as Brandenburg's envoy to the French court. However, Cardinal Mazarin suspected him of involvement in a dubious correspondence and had him imprisoned in the Bastille. After a year he was released with a French pension and moved to The Hague as the representative of the Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. In 1675 he faced imprisonment again this time by the Dutch government, on charges of treasonous dealings with the French. Sentenced to life and his assets confiscated, he later escaped to Celle, where he died. Brunet V, p.1442‎

They critique Arminianism and defend orthodox Reformed theology (Calvinism). ”Consideratio Arminianismi” is a direct critique of Arminian theology, analyzing and refuting its doctrines. “Specimen Controversiarum Belgicarum” reinforces the Reformed position by outlining the confessions and beliefs of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands which stood firmly against Arminianism.‎

Verfasser theologischer und historischer Schriften (z.B. über die Brüggler-Sekte). Die vorliegende Bücher zur Kindererziehung veröffentlichte er unter dem Pseudonym Tecknophilus Christianus.‎
