Le memorie sulle esplorazioni in Egitto, Sudan ed Etiopia del lucchese Carlo Piaggia pubblicate postume e tratte dai manoscritti inediti dell'autore. La sua esperienza nel continente africano, alternata a vari rimpatri, copre un arco temporale che va dal maggio 1851 al 17 gennaio 1882 data della sua morte a Carcoggi in Sudan. Alcune riparazioni interne alla sovraccoperta, senza perdite, peraltro volume ben conservato.‎
