L'hymne au soleil des architectes d'Aménophis III Souti et Hor. (Bulletin de l'Institut français d'archéologie orientale BIFAO).

Presentation copy, signed and dedicated by the author to Egyptologist Prof. Baudouin van de Walle (1901-1988) from whose library this item comes. A unique scholar's copy, it has Varille's shoulder note added in pen. Van de Walle's extensive annotations in pencil appear at bottom of first page as well as occasionally within the text. Loosely inserted there are 8 leaves of manuscript in his characteristic neat hand, apparently citing the hymns in full, stanza by stanza, as well as numerous notes and other texts, partly in hieroglyphs. Extremely rare view into this scholar's mind. Beinlich-Seeber 20053. ~[Librarium of The Hague offers the largest and finest collection of Egyptological offprint monographs in the rare book market.
