Exemplaire correct). LE LIVRE : Relation du voyage de l’auteur en Ethiopie, du 2 décembre 1900 au 20 mai 1901, au départ d’Aden, puis le pays des Issas (auquel appartenait Taër, le « boy » de la caravane, affectueusement décrit : « C’est une espèce de grand singe, intelligent, bon enfant, qui rit à tout propos » (p.104), enfin l’Ethiopie, par le pays des gallas (dénomination péjorative des Oromo) le 6 janvier suivant. A partir du 18 février, l’auteur est l’hôte du Négus Ménélik II, un des derniers descendants de la dynastie des salomonidés ; son illustre et lointain prédécesseur , Ménélik 1er , était le fils du faune Salomon [ « Il eut sept cents femmes de rang princier et trois cents concubines ». (1 Rois 11,2-3)] et de la reine de Saba. Le Roux fut favorablement accueilli par ce souverain, modernisateur de son pays ; il fit placer en début d’ouvrage une reproduction de son portrait peint à l’aquarelle, « d’après nature » par le peintre orientaliste Paul Buffet, « qui a heureusement [croqué] ce sourire d’accueil » (p.195); voir (p. 11) ce sourire original, quelque peu sardonique.

Robusta rilegatura in tela avana con titolo impresso in rosso, etichetta con immagine dell'Autore applicata al piatto, tagli colorati, 600 pagine circa per ciascun volume con immagini in nero nel testo. Leggeri segni del tempo in apertura del primo e secondo tomo che reca un ex libris al frontespizio, peraltro tutta l'opera è in ottime condizioni con legature ben salde. Spedzione in 24 ore dalla conferma dell'ordine.
