This work contains the first publication of two of Tennyson's Idylls; "Gareth and Lynette" and "The Last Tournament." Tennyson based "Gareth and Lynette" on the fourth book of Malory's 'Le Morte d'Arthur'. "The Last Tournament" tells the story of Tristram and Isolt and of King Arthur's purge of the Red Knight.
