‎Reform of the legal system. - "Whereas the Statute Laws of the Realm are become voluminous and intricate, and it is expedient that the same should as far as possible be consolidated: Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, with the consent of the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, in manner hereinafter mentioned, that is to say: - 1. At the expiration of six months after the passing of this Act, unless hereby otherwise provided for, all the public general statutes which were in force within the realm at the end of the year One thousand eight hundred and forty-six, shall be repealed, except so far as they repeal other statutes or abolish any custom or practice, and except also as any statutes are hereby expressly excepted. 2. This Act shall remain in force for the period of seven years from the time of passing thereof, subject only to such changes as may be effected by the temporary Acts hereinafter mentioned. 3. At the expiration of the period aforesaid, this Act shall undergo a revision, and shall receive all such additions and amendments as may then be thought expedient, and the Act so revised shall remain in force for the same period as before , and so on from seven years to seven years..." and 491 further statements.‎

‎Portrait aus: Larrey's 'Histoire d'Angleterre (1697). - Eduard VI. (1537-1553), war als dritter Monarch der Tudordynastie von 1547 bis 1553 König von England und Irland. Er war der einzige legitime Sohn Heinrichs VIII. und bestieg nach dessen Tod als Neunjähriger den englischen Thron. Er verstarb bereits im Alter von 15 Jahren. Eduard war der erste englische König, der eine protestantische Erziehung erhielt. Seine Regierungszeit war von religiösen Reformen geprägt, die die anglikanische Kirche erstmals auf einen Kurs brachten, der inhaltlich dem protestantischen Bekenntnis nahestand. Adriaen van der Werff (1659-1722), war ein niederländischer Maler. Pieter Stevensz. van Gunst (1659-1732), war ein niederländischer Zeichner, Radierer und Kupferstecher.‎
