Hoffmann, l'editore di Norimberga, era morto nel 1698, mentre la lastra reca la data 1701, nel cartiglio col titolo.Poco o nulla è noto di questa carta del territorio lombardo, sconosciuta a tutti i repertori, notano Davoli- Sanfelici- Zanasi, gli unici a descriverla: "Non abbiamo trovato descrizione della carta, veramente molto rara, nei repertori da noi consultati […] Dal punto di vista cartografico ripete correttamente quanto appare già nelle carte precedenti e anche per il territorio estense non aggiunge particolarità di rilievo. Essa è meno elegante delle coeve cvarte olandesi e francesi, ma rsppresenta un esempio importante della produzione dei centri minori."Incisione su rame, parziale sottolineautura in rosso dei confini sul lato destro della mappa, in ottimo stato di conservazione. La carta, oltre l'Italia, comprende i Balcani e parte dell'Ungheria, la costa adriatica per toccare la Grecia con l'isola di Corfù. Titolo entro cartiglio in basso a sinistra, in basso a destra figurano 14 scale grafiche. La carta deriva dell'edizione del 1700 cutrata da G. De L'Isle. Alone rossastro del diametro di 12 cm. che coinvolge parte del ducato del Piemonte e di Milano. Piegata centralmente all'origine. Controfondata con carta Cina al verso.
