L'Italia dimenticata. Dalla «brutte époque» all'Agenda Monti
Un debito pubblico di 2 mila miliardi di euro. Una disoccupazione giovanile ai massimi storici. Un'etica pubblica, un senso dello Stato e un senso civico ai minimi storici. Un Mezzogiorno abbandonato al suo destino. Un'enorme evasione fiscale. Un ventennio con la crescita media del PIL vicina allo zero. Il livello dei consumi fermo al 1997. Il dilagare dell'antipolitica e del neopopulismo. Sono questi i cardini dell'eredità che ci ha lasciato la brutte epoque, racchiusa negli anni fra il 1994 e il 2011. Tutto questo è avvenuto perché le classi politiche (e buona parte delle classi dirigenti), negli anni della brutte epoque hanno "dimenticato l'Italia", e i suoi veri problemi. La "rivoluzione liberale" promessa si è invece rivelata una pericolosa miscela esplosiva di vacua demagogia, deteriore populismo, negazione della realtà dei problemi, e corporativismo accattone. Se tante sono le responsabilità della destra, pure la sinistra spesso è stata obnubilata anche da un antiberlusconismo di comodo che, accanto a una certa dispersione di forze e demagogia, ne ha offuscato la capacità di governare o di essere una seria opposizione. Sulla base di questa impostazione, Luigi Tivelli, che ha potuto man mano osservare "accanto alla stanza dei bottoni" il degrado progressivo dei governi e la progressiva impotenza dei Parlamenti, ripercorre, tramite capitoli basati su una scrittura insieme plastica e divulgativa (e alternando diagnosi e proposte innovative), le tante "dimenticanze", in materia politica. Saint Juan Garc¡a L¢pez-Rico (1561-1613) was a Spanish Roman Catholic priest from the Trinitarian Order who would establish a branch of his order which he named the Order of Discalced Carmelites. Later in his life he assumed the name of "John Baptist of the Conception". He made it his mission to renew his order and he became known as a great reformer of the aims and structure of his order which he had applied to the new one that he established. He was also a prolific writer on theological matters. He was beatified in 1819 (when this work was published) and was canonized by Pope Paul VI in 1975. Scarce. W112

Sono passati tre anni dai tragici eventi sismici che nel 2016 provocarono 300 morti e distrussero il territorio intorno ai Monti Sibillini ma ancora oggi non si può parlare di ricostruzione finora impantanata nelle sabbie mobili della burocrazia. L'Italia è un paese magnifico ma fragile con tanta storia e poca memoria. Ad ogni catastrofe scatta la cultura dell'emergenza: un po' di commozione, un pizzico di solidarietà, qualche cresta sugli eventi se non qualche ruberia, tante strumentalizzazioni. Certo è impossibile prevedere i terremoti ma è possibile mettere in sicurezza il territorio e i suoi edifici pubblici e privati: si eviterebbero lutti e tragedie ma alla lunga costerebbe meno delle continue toppe che vengono applicate qua e là. Questo libro raccoglie alcuni articoli pubblicati negli anni dopo il sisma, le testimonianze e le proposte di associazioni e singoli rappresentativi della realtà del cratere ma riguarda tutti gli abitanti del Bel Paese. Se riuscirà a smuovere qualcosa, a contribuire allo smantellamento della cultura dell'emergenza e alla nascita di una lungimirante cultura della prevenzione e della sicurezza non sarà un libro inutile.
