‎[Roma-Trasporti] (cm.17x24) Da questo libro si apprende in sintesi un aspetto particolare della città eterna. Dalla costruzione dei primi ponti, il primo realizzato completamene i legno, il Sublicio, al primo in assoluto per il mondo occidentale costruito in muratura, ilponte Emilio, risalente all'anno 142 a. C, e via via gli altri che si sono susseguiti. Dai ponti si passa alle mura urbane, alla rete fognaria, alle strade, alle bighe che riescono a superare nelle corse i 40 chilometri orari, ai carri agricoli, all'evoluzione delle ruote che da piene passano con i raggi, al primo regolamento per la mobilità urbana, risalente all'epoca di Giulio Cesare, la Lex Julia Municipalis che vieta la circolazione dei rumorosi carri nelle ore notturne, rendendo pertanto la Roma notturna un'isola pedonale. Da questo libro si apprende che i romani, egregi costruttori di acquedotti, di strade consolari, ecc. per la loro città si sono riservati strade stette e tortuose da rendere caotica anche allora la circolazione dei mezzi di trasporto.Dopo questa prima parte dedicata all'antica Roma il libro si snoda nello scorrere dei secoli, sempre in sintesi nel raccontare l'argomento trasporto fino a giungere ai tram, ai filobus, agli autobus e ai nostri tempi. Collection of 12 vintage oversize double weight reference photographs for the 1973 German film based on the controversial 1897 play "Reigen" "La Ronde" by Arthur Schnitzler Adapted three time previously; by Max Ophuls in 1950 and Roger Vadim in 1964 both as "La Ronde" and by Richard Lerner and Paul Glickler in 1971 as "Hot Circuit" as well as several time subsequently. <br/><br/>Schnitzler's play which satirizes the sexual and class morals of its era was not produced on stage until 1920 although published versions in various languages were available as early as 1900. With its frank sexual nature and depictions of relationships that crossed class and cultural lines the play was immediately condemned as pornography and withdrawn from the German stage although it remained popular elsewhere. <br/><br/>The play consists of a series of vignettes each featuring a pair of lovers with each character appearing in two consecutive scenes with one character in the first scene appearing in the last. <br/><br/>The photographs in this collection are from four scenes each featuring either Sydne Rome or Maria Schneider as follows:<br/><br/>One photograph of Hans Bremmer and Rome as "The Soldier and the Parlor Maid."<br/><br/>Four photographs of Rome and Helmut Berger as "The Parlor Maid and the Young Gentleman."<br/><br/>Five photographs of Peter Weck and Schneider as "The Husband and the Little Miss."<br/><br/>Two photographs of Schneider and Michael Heltau as "The Little Miss and the Poet." <br/><br/>9.5 x 12.25 inches. Otto, ribadita in questo libro, che si può considerare il suo lascito: muovendo da una critica serrata alle «posizioni teoriche che continuano a ostacolare la genuina comprensione della religione greca», e lasciando poi risuonare direttamente «la voce del più spirituale e creativo di tutti i popoli ... che ben riusciamo a percepire, purché ci mettiamo in ascolto di quel che hanno da dirci i suoi maggiori testimoni da Omero in poi », Otto ci mostra come i miti siano in realtà autentiche «rivelazioni ontologiche», in quanto nati non già da sogni dell'anima, ma «dalla lucida contemplazione dell'occhio spirituale spalancato sull'essere delle cose». E ci spiega perché gli dèi greci continueranno sempre a parlarci: «Apollo, Dioniso, Afrodite, Ermes e tutti gli altri restano per noi manifestazioni sempre luminose ed estremamente significative. E per quanto possa risultarci difficile credere seriamente in loro, il loro sguardo sublime non cessa di venirci incontro appena ci solleviamo da tutto ciò che è meramente fattuale nelle altezze dove dimorano le forme».‎

‎8vo., First Edition, text in Latin, introduction and notes in English; contemporary full calf, sides with triple frame border stopped at corners by rosettes all in blind, back gilt with compartments ruled in gilt and blind, wanting original label but impressed lettering just legible, doublures tooled in blind, speckled edges, one or two slight scuffs to covers, small ink mark on lower board else a remarkably clean, crisp and highly desirable copy in unrestored period binding. EDWARD VESEY BLIGH'S COPY WITH HIS SIGNATURE ON FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. A NOTABLE COPY OF ONE OF KEIGHTLEY'S FINEST CLASSICAL COMMENTARIES. Remembered today primarily for his 'Fairy Mythology' (1828), Thomas Keightley (1789-1872) was also a classical historian and scholar of note; his editions of Greek and Roman texts were produced mainly from Trinity College Dublin. His 'Fasti' is based on the Krebs text, and Keightley notes the most important variant readings of the fifty-eight collated MSS of the poem, together with (not unnaturally) appropriate references to his own 'Mythology of Greece and Italy' published eight years previously. The edition received several laudatory reviews (notably in the 'Gentleman's Magazine') and was adopted for use by at least one major public school. The Hon. Edward Vesey Bligh, brother to 6th Earl of Darnley, was vicar of Birling in Kent and Chairman of the Prayer Book Revision Society‎

‎Paris Chamonix 1946 1 in-8 Paris, Éditeur Chamonix - Jean Landru, 1946, in-4, en feuilles, sous chemise et étui cartonnés vert amande, 126 pages, achevé d'imprimer, 6 feuillets.‎

‎Les illustrations de Uzelac, en couleurs, ont été reproduites selon le procédé Jacomet. Les textes sont encadrés de colonnes et frontons à l'antique, numérotation en chiffres romains. Ovide (-43 av. J.-C. 17 ap J.-C.) est un célèbre poète latin. L'Art d'Aimer est une initiation à l'art de l'amour et de la séduction. Uzelac traduit l'atmosphère antique qui se dégage de l'oeuvre d'Ovide. Milivoy UZELAC (1897 Mostar - 1977) peintre et sculpteur yougoslave, expose aux Indépendants depuis 1922, aux Salons d'Automne, des Tuileries, chez Bernheim-Jeune, Georges Petit, à Bruxelles, Londres, Amsterdam... Élève à l'École des Beaux-Arts de Prague. (Édouard-Joseph, Dictionnaire biographique des Artistes Contemporains, Tome III, 365). Tirage limité à 999 exemplaires numérotés. Un des 895 exemplaires numérotés sur vélin de rives. Légères salissures et accidents à la chemise et à l'étui, dos insolé.‎
