They include 14 views of Lake George and its vicinity including one of Caldwell now Lake George Village and one of Tea Island. Late 18th Century Manuscript Land Indenture from Plattsburgh New York.
<p>Folio sheet 16" x 14 1/2" printed with manuscript additions signed docketed on reverse paper seal. Creased a few small holes mostly at folds very slight effect on one word some edgewear a little browning and soiling; otherwise very good. This document appears to be a rental agreement for some land in Plattsburgh between Charles Platt and Thomas McCurdy. Charles Platt 1743-1824 is a member of the founding family of the town of Plattsburgh. While the document is mostly printed there are six lines of hand written text describing the location of land involved with this transaction.</p>

Queens New York. Collection of Manuscripts documents relating to land purchases in Queens New York by John Morrell. New York: 1729 1741 1762 & 1796. Four large folio sheets one small folio sheets and two sheets with diagrams illustrating land purchases docketed. Aging and browning to group a little foxing or staining remnants of wax seals cloth tape repairs and one small archival tape repair along back of folds on some sheets a few chips and tears some folds in the margins. Overall about very good. Interesting group of documents that relate to land purchases by John Morrell who appears to be a blacksmith in 18th century Queens. The first document is dated 1729 and this appears to indicate he inherits a small plot of land from his father in Newtown which was in Queens County. Although it is not totally clear Morell may have been adopted by a Samuel Albertus . Newtown was originally founded by the Dutch in 1652 and called Middleburgh but became Newtown when the British took control of all the Dutch holdings in New York. In 1896 Newtown became Elmhurst. While these documents cover close to 70 years they suggest that Morell continued to make land purchases between 1729 and 1796 in Newtown. Most of these purchases were relatively modest but in 1762 he did buy some land for 359 pounds from a Samuel Moore. hardcover

The name of the business is on the brick below the cornice. Men and women stand out front or are seated in horse-drawn buggies. Other buildings are seen on the left up a hill.</p> <p>Sipperly established his photographic studio in Schuylersville New York in the 1850s and later expanded to Saratoga and Mechanicsville. He later moved to Vermont.</p> unknown

An outstanding counter display photo sales catalogue for Champion Berger Rotary Snow Plows sold through Valley Implement Inc. in Warsaw New York in the 1950s. Composed of 20 commercial silver gelatin photographs silver prints of numerous testimonial letters & sales contracts as well as nine printed sales advertising slogans.

Oblong 4to. 37 leaves unnumbered. all mylar sleeves including 20 silver gelatin photographs sized 8 x 10 in. all preserved in mylar sleeves 1 w/ photographer’s studio stamp on verso 9 printed sales cards on thick paper stock blue lettering sized 8 x 10 in. 8 silver print reproductions of ALS & sales documents. Recent 3-ring binder lettering stamped on front cover NF. This counter display photo catalogue extolled the virtues and advantages of the Champion Berger Rotary Snow Plow developed and produced by Erskine Manufacturing of Minnesota. Founded in 1948 following World War II they were one of the first companies to pioneer and manufacture rotary snow blowers and plows for farm tractors and proved to be an immediate hit. These photos show the rear rotary snow plow fitted to all popular 25 horsepower or more tractors such as Farmall Allis Chalmers Case International Harvester and other tractors. They could be easily installed in minutes rather than hours for front snow plow implements were used with ease with any snow removal job avoided the common problems of more powerful front snow blowers such as bucking and breakage to both tractor & plow and could be easily controlled from the tractor seat. According to contemporary newspaper and trade magazine advertisements as well as the reproduced sales contracts in this group the cost typically ran from $ 300.00 to $ 325.00 for the Champion Berger and the testimonial letters to Valley Implement in upstate New York between Buffalo & Rochester rave about the performance. Carlson 1926-2019 first began as a photographer at 15 years of age and after photographing his first wedding in 1950 ran Carlson’s Studio for 40 years shooting across the surrounding Genesee Wyoming and Orleans Counties of New York. Oblong folio 30x43.5cm; original gray cloth stamped in red and black; 8pp. index 188 color plates with extensive pasted-in cancels collated and complete. Boards soiled and edgeworn with minor fraying; binding sound; occasional spotting and chipping to edges else a Very Good and sound copy. <br /> <br /> Incredibly detailed block by block map of Depression-era Manhattan notable for the meticulous updates by hand to nearly every plate with paper cutouts and adjacent glue smears placed above the originals presumably to account for the fast pace of change in the city's urban landscape. Bromley had last produced a Manhattan land book in 1930. Remarkable for its production level of detail and capturing New York in its skyscraper heyday. G. W. Bromley & Company unknown

New York: Privately printed 1882. 1882. First edition. 4-1/2" x 2-3/4" luxury restaurant menu. This small menu dated April 6 1882 is assumed to be from the Wilson House located in Wilson New York. The restaurant and inn was built in 1844 and is still open today. Menu items include Oysters from the Providence River Cold Dishes such as Pressed Corned Beef Salads Cake examples include Sponge Cake and Charlotte Russe and Ice Cream. The front of the menu is a bright colorful picture of a young stylish lady with the following quote . "If love is a nettle that makes you smart Then why do you wear it next your heart" PATIENCE." Tanning to recto slightly rubbed edges else very good. Privately printed, 1882. unknown

New York: Lith. of W. Faust 105 Nassau St 1860. Broadside wine list 25.5 x 15.5 cm. 1 page. Porcelain card decorated in chromolithograph with text in blue and red. A very early wine list from an important New York hotel and dining establishment. The hotel was at the corner of Broadway and Eleventh Street across from Grace Church and Rectory. Both the hotel and the church were designed by the architect James Renwick Jr. Named for its original owner Denis Julien the St. Denis Hotel opened in 1853 just in time for the Crystal Palace Exhibition. The building was leased to William Taylor in 1875 who incorporated the Taylor Saloon into the facility. The list features Clarets from Finke Merman of Bordeaux mostly from 1847 and 1848. And French whites including 1847 Latour Blanche and 1847 d'Yquem. Champagne Sherries and Madeiras are also included. A solid piece of printing from a firm more known for fruit labels. Verso contains an unattributed primitive pencil drawing of a horse. Some darkening to the top edge of the recto. Lith. of W. Faust, 105 Nassau St unknown

A very good copy of this exceedingly scarce pamphlet. OCLC lists only 13 copies including those at Columbia Cornell Yale Harvard and the New York Historical Society.<br/> <br/> Attributed to Isaac Bronson by F. Redlich in "The Molding of American Banking" 1868 volume 1 page 308. "Isaac Bronson was a highly successful financier of the Jacksonian era who was also one of the period's most original and influential banking theorists. Bronson accumulated his very considerable fortune in New York primarily by judicious personal money-lending operations on long-term bonds and mortgages at a cautious 7 per cent annual return supplemented by successful ventures in land speculation. In addition to wealth he had by the 1830's acquired a weighty reputation for sober financial conservatism and was regarded as an authoritative exponent of sound banking principles. Prominent in the financial community he had long thrown his weight as a sound banking theorist against the "wild-cat" practices of the then rampant state banks." --Venit A. 1945.
