Photographic dustwrapper showing American fighter jet with blue coloured background and Green and yellow coloured titles to the front panel and blue and red coloured titles to the backstrip. The 1961 edition of this particular book for this series dealing with the new innovations in aviation. Softening to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to the lower book edges. Some browning to the book panels and to the textblock edges and internal pages. Faint foxing to the top textblock edge. The end papers have been affected by moisture and the fold over panels have stuck and have left residue when pried from the endpapers. Previous bookseller's sticker to the lower edge of the front paste-down and previous owner's name to the top edge of the free front endpaper. Some stains to the endpapers. This dustwrapper is in horrible shape. Chipping two. The dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the backstrip. In fact the lower edge of the backstrip is missing the last 0 .25". Chipping and tears to the top dustwrapper edge and rubbing to the lower edge. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and the front spine gutter has split for 2.5 "from the lower edge. The fold over panels are dreadful show water damage and aforementioned removal from endpapers and also have large abrasions of their surfaces. Boards and spine are blue lettering navy title and book number 11 embossed on spine title and decorative triangle embossed on front cover. Dust jacket is white lettering black/red/green colour photo front colour pictorial back title and book number 11 on spine. Dust jacket is NOT PRICE CLIPPED has very minor edge wear before it was put in a clear sleeve in 1967 owner put a bit of yellow tape on spine of dj as a subject code and this has left a light brown stain on dj 1/2 inch x 1 3/4 inches horizontally. The book itself has covers and spine flat clean bright no rips no bent corners no spine creases has a miniscule bit of edge wear a tiny bit of sunning along very edge of top board edges and a few tiny creases on top spine end. Page edges bright and clean. Inner end papers are white. Inside of book is tight clean bright clear flat. Book slightly falls open at title page and page 14 which may be because a bookmark was slipped in at those two pages. Owner’s name date ink on ffep. With silhouettes by Dennis Punnett.
