Colour illustrated dustwrapper again by Ronald Searle with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. The Air Race upon which this book is based actually occurred in probably in 1910 and the beginning of flight is set against against the" . decorous � and at times absurd � background of Edwardian England." � from front fold over panel blurb. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges with bumping of the book corners; which also show rubbing. Rubbing of the lower book edges and there is fine foxing to the book panels. Offset tanning and find foxing to the end pages with just mild age toning of the pages. The dustwrapper is in not great shape � please see photograph. Chipping with pieces missing to some of the edges of the backstrip and book corners. A 2 inch split to the top corner of the front fold over and there is a 3 inch tear to the lower edge of the front dustwrapper with creasing; there is a similar sized tear to the top right-hand corner of the rear panel. The other edges of the dustwrapper show a few tears with creasing. Browning and foxing to all surfaces of the dustwrapper and insect trails can be seen to the front panel.
