Ouvrage édité pour la Triennale de Yokohama, en deux versions (française et japonaise), que nous proposons ici tous les deux. Il représente la suite du travail de Laure Tixier sur l'imaginaire contemporain, populaire et moderne, donc fort logiquement ici dans le domaine du manga japonais, puisqu'elle joue ici avec une courte histoire (une vingtaine de pages), réalisée en couleurs. On joint également quelques documents concernant le travail de Laure Tixier. Les états des deux ouvrages sont très bon. Livraison a domicile (La Poste) ou en Mondial Relay sur simple demande.‎

‎Né en 1920 à Shitaya, Koichi Tohei est un maître d'Aïkido (au 10e dan), probablement l'un des tout meilleurs techniciens. Fondateur de la Société de recherches sur le Ki (équivalent du Chi chinois), il fut le principal responsable de lintroduction dès 1953 de lAïkido en Occident, à travers notamment de réguliers voyages aux îles Hawaii, aux États-Unis et en Europe. Écrit un an après Aikido: The Arts of Self Defense, Tohei explique les principes de l'Aïkido et du Ki dans un langage simple et facile à comprendre. Une démonstration de 15 techniques expliquant l'équilibre, la rotation, la physique, nous est présentée par le texte et l'image. Traduit du kanji en anglais. Livre précieux.‎

The title references a traditional euphemism for sex workers, who held a partivular form of cultural cachet in Tokiwa's hometown, the port city of Yokohama. While prostitution is a major subject in Kiken na adabana, the photobook more brodly cronicles the daily lives of working women - including nurses, shop clerks, teachers and performers - and as a result, demystifies sex work for what it really is: a job. ... As one of the only female photographers active in Yokohama during this time, Tokiiwa uniquely experienced the challenges of working within a patriarchal environment. Despite her proffessional status as an observer, the photographer herself became an object of fascination and increased scrutiny amoung her peers. Tokiwa toys with this irony throuout Kiken na adabana - perhaps most significantly in the book cover, a self-portrait of the artist holding a camera. A smaller photgraph of a woman being forciby dragged by her male companion is superimposed in place of the Photographer's lens.
