‎Seconde édition (l'originale était parue en 1818 sous le titre un peu différent de Account of a voyage of discovery to the west coast of Corea and the great Loo-Choo island) de l'une des premières descriptions occidentales de la Corée. Dans le cadre de la mission diplomatique de Lord Amherst en Chine (1816), le célèbre voyageur avait en effet entrepris une reconnaissance des côtes occidentales de la Corée, ainsi que des îles Ryu-Kyu.L'entretien avec Napoléon est publié ici pour la première fois et occupe les pp. 302-322. Il eut lieu dans l'après-midi du 13 août 1817 en court-circuitant à la fois Hudson Lowe et Bertrand, mais en s'appuyant sur la personne de Barry O'Meara, qui était restée familière à l'Empereur. D'une durée de 25 minutes environ, il tourna en partie autour du séjour du père de Hall à l'École militaire de Brienne, où le jeune officier l'avait connu, en partie autour du séjour en Asie que venait d'effectuer le voyageur.Le CCF ne présente que des exemplaires de l'édition de 1818.Vignette ex-libris de Charles Henry Weston, de Lincoln Inn.
