‎L'une des plus belles cartes de l'Islande, dressée d'après la carte de Joris Carolus, vers 1620. La carte de Carolus a supplanté celle d'Ortelius, vers 1590, et celle de Mercator, vers 1600. Voyageur hollandais, Joris Carolus se rendit plusieurs fois en Islande, la première en 1617. Sa carte servit de prototype jusqu'à la fin du XVIIe siècle. Elle fut également reprise par Blaeu. Très décorative, elle est ornée d'un volcan en éruption, de deux roses des vents, d'un navire, de monstres marins et d'un très beau cartouche de titre animé de deux figures allégoriques. Texte français au verso. Bel exemplaire finement colorié à l'époque.‎
