14,3x7,5 cm; 102, (10) pp. Brossura editoriale con titolo in rosso e nero al piatto anteriore (qualche piccola macchiolina di foxing al piatto anteriore e una piccolissima mancanza al margine basso bianco del dorso). Varie tavole illustrate a piena pagina nel testo. Prima non comune edizione di questo scritto del noto studioso e teosofo originario di Pesaro, Augusto Agabiti. Fu tra le menti più progressiste e liberali dell'Italia degli inizi del XX° secolo. Alla sua opera si devono ad esempio le leggi sulla limitazione della Vivisezione degli animali e quella contrastante la piaga dell'alcolismo. Nel clima culturale dei primi anni del secolo, nei quali era forte un'impronta spiritualistica, coltivò interessi teosofici: nel 1904 l'Agabiti incontrò Decio e Olga Calvari, cultori della teosofia della Blavatskij, e con loro fece parte della Società Teosofica, fondata ad Adyar da Henry Steel Olcott e da Annie Besant, dalla quale si allontanò nel 1910 per aderire alla Lega Teosofica Indipendente, fondata l’anno prima a Benares. Collaboratore dal 1907 della rivista «Ultra», ne fu anche il direttore dal 1914. In "Ipazia" l'autore analizza la figura della grande filosofa greca Ipazia considerata come la prima donna martire della libertà di pensiero. Prima rara edizione.

Carta geografica pubblicata a Venezia da Giambattista Albrizzi. Le carte di Albrizzi, derivanti dalle opere di Guillaulme de L’Isle, Iasaak Tirion, furono preparate per il suo Atlante Novissimo, che contiene tutte le parti del mondo del 1740 (volume 1) - 1750 (volume 2). Per le carte italiane l’Albrizzi utilizzò invece fonti diverse. Allo stesso tempo, furono utilizzate anche per illustrare Lo stato presente di tutti i paesi e popoli del mondo naturale, politico e morale con nuove osservazioni degli antichi e moderni viaggiatori. Scritto in inglese dal signor Salmon. Tradotto in Ollandese, e Francese, Tedescho ed ora in Italiano. In Venezia, Presso Giambattista Albrizzi MDCCXXXVII-MDCCLVI (1737-66), opera - in ventisette volumi – traduzione italiana dell’opera di Thomas Salmon Modern history, or the present state of all nations, che apparve tra il 1725 e il 1739 a Londra in 32 volumi. Giambattista Albrizzi fa parte di una famiglia di tipografi ed editori veneziani di origine bergamasca. Iniziatore dell'attività tipografica fu, negli ultimi decenni del XVII secolo, Girolamo Albrizzi a cui successe il figlio Giambattista, attivo particolarmente nel ventennio 1730-50. Diede grande impulso all'arte tipografica veneziana, legando il proprio nome a una serie di splendide edizioni, per cui si valse della collaborazione dei migliori disegnatori e incisori del tempo: Piazzetta, Zanetti, Pitteri e Bartolozzi. In Venezia, Presso Giambattista Albrizzi MDCCXXXVII-MDCCLVI (1737-66), work - in twenty-seven volumes - Italian translation of the books by Thomas Salmon Modern history, or the present state of all nations, which appeared between 1725 and 1739 in London in 32 volumes. Giambattista Albrizzi is part of a family of printers and publishers of Venice from Bergamo. Start of printing was in the last decades of the seventeenth century, Girolamo Albrizzi was succeeded by his son Giambattista, particularly active in the twenty years 1730-50. He gave great impetus to the art printing Venetian, linking its name to a series of magnificent editions, which earned him the collaboration of the best designers and engravers of the time: Piazzetta, Zanetti, Pitteri and Bartolozzi. La carta sii riferisce alla riconquista veneziana della regione, il Golfo di Prevesa, da parte dell'armata guidata da Francesco Morosini.Il 29 settembre 1684 Morosini, nella sua prima campagna della Morea, attirò verso la riva la guarnigione di Prevesa, corsa per impedire uno sbarco di truppe dalle galee e galeazze presentatesi davanti alla piazza; e intanto fece effettivamente sbarcare il grosso delle forze in prossimità della cittadella, che dopo pochi giorni fu costretta ad arrendersi.Con la pace di Carlowitz (15 aprile 1701) Prevesa ritornò alla Turchia.Opera rarissima, della quale non abbiamo trovato tracce nella bibliografia.
