Zafiropulo présente par ordre chronologique, avec les théories de la connaissance correspondantes, une série de systèmes du monde s'échelonnant de l'aube de la civilisation hellène au milieu de notre XXe siècle, marqué par une crise de la physique et de la cosmologie qui s'exprime par l'abandon de la causalité classique et des représentations « absolues » de l'espace et du temps. En apparence, les Grecs n'occupent qu'une petite place dans ce livre. Sur les dix chapitres dans lesquels l'A. esquisse l'évolution de la pensée physique et de ses fondements, trois seulement sont consacrés à des tentatives grecques, celles de Pythagore, de Zenon et d'Aristote. Mais en réalité, l'esprit grec est présent dans tous les chapitres, en particulier l'esprit de Zenon, disciple de Parménide. ZAHN, filologo ed archeologo, partecipò agli scavi archeologici presso l'Acropoli ad Atene. Nel 1901 divenne assistente direttore presso il Dipartimento di Antichità a Berlino, dove nel 1931 succedette Theodor Wiegand come direttore. (wiki), ASSTEAS uno dei pochi ceramografi delle colonie greche il cui nome è giunto fino a noi. greco, attivo a Paestum nel IV secolo a.C., uno tra i più attivi pittori vascolari a figure rosse della Magna Grecia, gestì un grande laboratorio in cui si producevano hydriai e crateri con scene mitologiche e teatrali.‎
