Editions Lyonnaise d'Art et d'Histoire 2016, in/4 broché, 159 pages. Illustrations en couleurs et en noir, de gravures photographies, ... Lyon. Au coeur du quartier le plus commerçant de la Presqu'île, l'éclectique façade de l'église Saint-Bonaventure se présente de guingois, plus large que haute, surmontée de ses pinacles et complétée de son clocher carré. On a là l'une des églises les plus considérables de la ville. Elle était en 1226 une église conventuelle de franciscains, ou de Cordeliers, le nom que la tradition a donné à ces religieux en raison de la cordelette qui leur sert de ceinture. Elle abrita le Deuxième Concile oecuménique de Lyon. Bonaventure y mourut en 1275. Il est depuis l'un des saints patrons de la ville. Du XVe au XVIIIe siècle, les confréries de métiers en firent leur église, elle fut reconstruite et agrandie. Son architecture est liée à son histoire et à celle de la ville, qui s'y lisent comme dans un livre. Aujourd'hui, les franciscains n'y sont plus. Ils ont donné leur nom à la place sur laquelle se dresse l'église devenue sanctuaire, la place des Cordeliers.
