‎Blois, J.P.J. Masson, 1789. 2 parties en 1 vol. in-8 de 140-61 pp., demi-basane fauve, dos lisse orné, pièce de titre en maroquin rouge (reliure de l'époque).‎

‎Édition originale. Instructions de l'évêque de Blois en vue des Etats-Généraux de 1789 données aux habitants de Madon (actuelle commune de Candé-sur-Beuvron dans le Loir-et-Cher). Le prélat Alexandre de Lauzières de Thémines (1742-1829) était grand vicaire de Senlis et aumônier du roi lorsqu'il fut nommé, en 1776, évêque de Blois. En 1788, il demanda à Louis XVI de rappeler à Paris le parlement exilé à Troyes. Ayant refusé en 1791, de prêter serment à la constitution civile du clergé, il fut démissionnaire et remplacé par l'abbé Grégoire. Toutefois il ne quitta Blois qu'en présence d'un soulèvement populaire et sur l'injonction de la municipalité. Thémines se retira alors en Savoie, puis en Espagne, refusa en 1801, de donner sa démission d'évêque de Blois, protesta contre le Concordat de 1802 et alla habiter Londres vers 1810. Ayant reconnu publiquement en 1811, le gouvernement impérial, il se vit fermer tous les salons de l'émigration. Large mouillure cornière, mors supérieur fendu en pied.‎
