Hamburg Germany: Podium - TELDEC 1979. WOW-001. This outstanding artist more than "holds the stage" with this unaccompanied solo violin program performed in 1979 at the Stadtkirche in Karlsruhe. REPERTOIRE: Sonata 1977 Henze - composed for Jenny Abel; Sonata No.1 in g-minor BWV 1001 Bach; Sonata 1944 Bartok. CONDITION: Beautiful sound for a "live" concert recording here in a pressing with remarkably quiet surfaces - just a very few spots with minimal/negligible noise. NOTE: About a minute before the end of Side B there is a miniscule manufacturing bump in the vinyl causing a quiet low thump for a dozen or so rotations. If you're tone-arm is tracking very light there is a risk of a skip shortly thereafter. On my Stanton STR8-80 turntable for example it skips at 1.5 but not at 2.0. I've graded this rare copy conservatively so as not to disappoint even the most discerning collector. Its jacket is bright solid unmarked and uncreased with negligible shelf-wear. The LP is now in a new audiophile inner sleeve replacing the plain original and the entire album is nestled in a strong mylar outer sleeve.
