26 pp. With 256 well preserved wool and fabric samples in fresh anilin dyes, solidly mounted on thick cardboard. Original black calico binding with pictorial cover incorporating gilt title and spine. A well-preserved 1930s collection of fabric swatches dyed in various colours: wool, shajak (a fine Bulgarian wool fabric), demi-wool, sulan, and imitation silk (rayon). - Bulgaria and other allies of Nazi Germany played a major role in supporting the German economical expansion during the 1930s and 1940s. The catchword "Großraumplanung" stood for the German industries' aim to expand throughout the Balkans and Turkey as far as Iran. A major sector of National Socialist business interests, the chemical industry in particular grew rapidly. Its leading players such as I.G. Farben promoted their anilin dyes by establishing local subsidiaries in the East who would then distribute bilingual swatchbooks such as the present specimen. - The tipped-in sample pages are captioned in German and Bulgarian throughout. Prefixed is a manual in both languages on how to dye the fabrics (several of which, such as sulan and shajak, are traditional Bulgarian cloths). - Covers very slightly worn at extremeties; light duststaining to cards. brossura Versione italiana del testo inglese pubblicato da Springer Verlag con il titolo "Steam Generators" (2008), si tratta di una versione sensibilmente diversa dall'opera (in due volumi), pubblicata nel 1985 da CLUP e ristampata da Maggioli Editore, nata per fornire ai tecnici una guida operativa ma soprattutto un manuale di studio agli allievi del corso di Generatori di vapore gestito dall'autore. Il nuovo testo ha epurato inutili richiami storici, la parte relativa al calcolo strutturale dei generatori, i riferimenti alle strutture portanti dei generatori e ciò che nel frattempo si è modificato o è divenuto obsoleto; in compenso è stato aggiornato in varie parti, si sono aggiunte delle appendici e sono presentati esempi di calcolo automatico; si è operato per avere un testo moderno, focalizzato sulla termodinamica e la fluidodinamica dei generatori di vapore.

brossura Il presente volume ha la caratteristica di essere basato su assoluto rigore scientifico senza però indulgere in eccessivi riferimenti teoretici che appesantirebbero il testo senza fornire al lettore una effettiva maggior conoscenza dei problemi inerenti la trasmissione del calore. La preoccupazione dell'autore è stata quella di fornire sempre al lettore una metodologia di calcolo sicura, chiara e il più possibile semplice da applicare, anche attraverso formule approssimate, diagrammi e tabelle; a tale scopo sono stati anche introdotti fattori correttivi per risolvere casi concreti partendo da soluzioni classiche. Dopo una breve introduzione nel Cap. 1, nei Cap. 2 e 3 è trattata la conduzione del calore sia in condizioni stazionarie che nei transitori. Nel Cap. 4 si parla dell'analisi dimensionale, premessa del Cap. 5, nel quale viene trattata la trasmissione del calore per convezione. Il Cap. 6 parla della trasmissione del calore per irraggiamento incluso quello da fiamma. Il Cap. 7 tratta degli scambiatori di calore e dei fasci tubieri e il Cap. 8 si occupa delle perdite di carico in dettaglio. L'Appendice A riporta una serie di tabelle relative alle caratteristiche termiche dei materiali mentre l'Appendice B riporta una serie di tabelle con i fattori correttivi da usare nel calcolo di progetto relativamente alla differenza media di temperatura. Infine l'Appendice C riporta una serie di tabelle con i fattori correttivi della temperatura di uscita nel calcoli di verifica.

brossura Lo scopo del presente testo è quello di fornire al progettista un metodo di calcolo degli scambiatori di calore che, partendo da criteri noti ma che portano a risultati solo approssimati in varie situazioni, permetta di pervenire correttamente alla realtà dei fenomeni; ciò si ottiene attraverso fattori correttivi, che sono riportati in ben 71 tabelle inserite nel testo; l'indagine riguarda, come detto, gli scambiatori di calore ma essa è stata estese anche ai serpentini e ai fasci tubieri. Nei tre capitoli in cui è suddiviso il testo si richiamano i criteri di calcolo della trasmissione del calore con fluidi in equicorrente e in controcorrente, si illustra il significato del calcolo di progetto e di quello di verifica e si illustra il significato dell'introduzione dei fattori correttivi; nelle due appendici sono riportate le tabelle relative a questi fattori.

Alla pari del cinema, del teatro e di qualsiasi produzione culturale, il vino possiede, in realtà, un linguaggio proprio, attraverso il quale ci racconta storie, politiche, ideologie, sentimenti e interi sistemi culturali. By the author of 'The Lathe and its Uses' and 'The Amateur Mechanic's Workshop', the book provides details on mortise and tenon jointing, dovetailing, mitering, rebating, tonguing, grooving, sharpening and setting tools, hand-turning in wood, using the lathe, how to make a table, a steam engine, Watt's engine, hardening and tempering tools, etc. Many of the illustrations are of tools. This title could not be traced in the catalogues of the British Library or the Library of Congress.
