Antivirale e antibatterico, negli ultimi anni, grazie alla sua azione energica, l'iperico è stato riscoperto anche come valido rimedio contro gli stati depressivi e i disturbi nervosi non gravi, quali sbalzi d'umore, tristezza, insonnia. L'iperico rappresenta un'alternativa valida ai farmaci convenziona-li, poiché non mira a risolvere il problema con terapie miracolose ma piuttosto a consolidare quei processi che portano a un riequilibrio anche interiore della persona. Alcuni esempi di utilizzo dell'iperico che potete trovare nel libro uso interno: Angoscia, panico, fobie: Sono disturbi più o meno gravi e sempre più diffusi, con cause apparentemente inspiegabili (es. agorafobia o claustrofobia) ma apparentemente legate a fattori ben precisi (ad esempio disturbi legati all'acqua, la paura dell'acqua o il lavarsi continuamente). Le patologie sono spesso accompagnate da sintomi come accelerazione del polso, sudorazione e insufficienza respiratoria. Ovviamente tali disturbi non fanno altro che aumentare l'insicurezza e l'instabilità emotiva di persone che per vari motivi (stress, problematiche connesse alla famiglia o al lavoro, carattere) presentano già una fragilità affettiva più o meno marcata. Una cura di almeno un mese con iperico potrebbe facilitare la scomparsa o l'affievolimento di sintomi e disturbi. Nel caso dopo un mese si avvertissero solo i primi segnali di un miglioramento, proseguire il trattamento. Cefalea, emicrania: Se questi disturbi si ripetono spesso e se sono connessi anche a una cattiva qualità del sonno, è utile un trattamento di almeno un mese a base di iperico. Seguire i dosaggi dati per la depressione. Un'altra opzione, a detta di alcuni molto efficace, è di bere un bicchierino di estratto alcolico o ingerire un cucchiaino di olio. Insonnia: Il multiforme spettro d'azione dell'iperico comprende anche un miglioramento sensibile della qualità del sonno, forse dovuto al contenuto di melatonina dell'estratto intero oppure all'azione riequilibrante della pianta nel suo insieme. Un trattamento di almeno un mese dovrebbe produrre un sicuro miglioramento; in caso negativo conviene insistere nel trattamento per un altro mese ancora. Nervosismo Che sia sporadica o persistente, questa condizione trae giovamento da un trattamento blando e prolungato (almeno un mese) a base di iperico (due tisane o compresse al giorno). Uso esterno: Dermatiti Sono irritazioni cutanee a volte persistenti e molto fastidiose. Escludendo il caso di allergie, si può utilizzare l'olio d'iperico direttamente applicato sulla pelle. Mal di denti (Anche successivo a estrazioni) Massaggiare la parte dolorante con olio d'iperico o estratto alcolico oppure fare degli sciacqui diluendone cinquanta gocce in acqua. Scottature solari: Utilizzare l'olio di iperico soprattutto dopo l'esposizione al sole (ad esempio alla sera). È altamente sconsigliato usare l'olio d'iperico mentre si è direttamente esposti al sole.
