br. La relazione terapeutica può essere intesa secondo due accezioni molto differenti fra loro. È possibile pensare al rapporto fra il medico e il suo paziente come a un contesto, al cui interno vengono praticati interventi curativi; oppure questa relazione può essere ritenuta, in sé stessa e in quanto tale, anche come uno strumento terapeutico. Se si vuole ricorrere a una metafora derivata dal teatro, nella prima visione la relazione è vista, e utilizzata, come scena; nella seconda visione la relazione è invece la parte centrale della rappresentazione. La relazione terapeutica come sfondo degli atti di cura appartiene più tipicamente al campo della medicina del corpo. Tuttavia chi si ammala affida al medico non solo la propria malattia, il proprio corpo, la speranza di guarire, ma anche la sua crisi esistenziale dovuta all'essere in situazione di fragilità. Prima di essere curato, il paziente ha bisogno di essere rassicurato, pur non chiedendolo esplicitamente perché il più delle volte non ne è pienamente consapevole. Come confermano molti studi, la terapia, così come gli effetti dei farmaci, risente, in positivo o in negativo, della qualità di questa relazione in quanto il rapporto medico-paziente costituisce il fondamento della cura. Questo libro - rivolto ai medici, a chi si prepara per diventarlo, ma anche chi ha la responsabilità di formare le nuove generazioni di professionisti - si propone di fornire un contributo alla lettura delle difficoltà e della profonda crisi che a partire dagli anni '60 del secolo scorso ha iniziato a interessare il rapporto medico-paziente. Nell'evidenziarne le cause principali, indica anche possibili correttivi per affrontarle.

Basta scegliere i cibi con un IG basso o medio, tra i quali figurano gli ortaggi, i semi oleosi, i cereali integrali, i legumi, ma anche quasi tutti i frutti compresi quelli essiccati; combinandoli tra loro, con grassi buoni, l'olio extravergine in primo luogo, e alimenti proteici magri, si riduce l'impatto dei pasti sulla glicemia.
