CB Radio / Amateur Radio / QSL Cards
Archive of 80 QSL Cards 1970s preserved in contemporary Photo Album
V.p. 1970. Large quarto photo album 30 cm: brightly floral-patterend cloth lettered in gilt. 10 card-stock "leaves" protected by plastic sheets each "leaf" completely filled with 80 QSL cards including some duplicates plus 5 postcards. Card-stock rather yellowed and one plastic sheet creased and a bit ragged. Individual cards printed in various formats including offset mimeo and typed some stuck to card-stock otherwise in good condition. Archive of Q-Code Cards: "I AM IN RECEIPT OF YOUR MESSAGE"<br/><br/>A large and colorful archive of amateur radio QSL cards used to confirm two-way radio communication apparently all issued at the height of the colorful QSL trend of the 1970s. The cards hail from far and wide in both the United States and Canada--we note examples from Maine Indiana Wisconsin Vermont Washington state Ohio Kentucky Tennessee Oregon Texas Colorado Minnesota New Jersey Idaho Delaware California Virginia and Massachusetts as well as Ontario Quebec and Saskatchewan. While early QSL cards were fairly unimaginative these almost all exude the operator's personality and interests including religious patriotic raunchy fortune telling and military.<br/><br/>"CB radio enthusiasts often exchanged colorful QSL cards especially during the height of CB's popularity in the 1970s. CB radio operators who met while on the air would typically swap personalized QSL cards which featured their names "handles" and CB callsigns. A simple card format might only include the users callsign and/or "handle" home location and note the date and time of a CB radio contact. More elaborate cards featured caricatures cartoons slogans and jokes sometimes of a ribald nature. As the CB radio fad grew in the U.S. and Canada a number of artists specializing in artwork for CB QSL cards emerged who were identified by nicknames such as "Alley Cat" "Sundown" "Booking Agent" "Squeaky" "The Viking" "Moonglow" and "Brushstroke". According to artist Jess Anderson aka "Runnin Bare" in 1976 he returned $100000 to customers "because he could not keep up with demand unknown books

Twenty-two have promotional text in most cases affixed; in three cases text is loose but present. A few have holograph printing notations overall near fine. Mission: Impossible was a classic espionage television series financed and produced by Desilu Productions that aired on CBS for seven seasons from September 17 1966 to March 30 1973. Created and initially produced by Bruce Geller the show chronicled the exploits of a small team of covert government agents known as the Impossible Missions Force IMF and their sophisticated methods of deceiving manipulating and thwarting amongst others hostile Iron Curtain governments third-world dictators corrupt industrialists and crime lords. In most cases the action lasted right to the final seconds. A dramatic device frequently used at the end was the sound of a gunshot or a scream in the distance as the target is killed by his associates as the IMF team makes their getaway. Most often they leave in a nondescript panel truck with the episode ending in a freeze frame. In one particular episode the team escapes in a van after leaving a secret underground enemy base that is destroyed by a series of explosions. In the 1980s revival this format was altered with the addition of a tag scene showing the IMF team regrouping often still in disguise and walking away. From the middle of the second season onwards Jim Phelps often makes a quip. Wikipedia CBS Television unknown

CBS Television. No binding. Near Fine. New York: CBS-TV 1963-66. Set of thirteen vintage original 8 x 10" 20 x 25 cm and 7 x 9" 18 x 23 cm black-and-white photos. Most have affixed descriptive text one has a date stamp. In a few cases the text is loose but present. Also included is a 1/25/65 two-page press release from CBS about Ray Walston who played the Martian. Overall near fine or better. My Favorite Martian was a sitcom that aired on CBS from September 29 1963 to May 1 1966 for 107 episodes. The show starred Ray Walston as Uncle Martin the Martian and Bill Bixby as Tim O'Hara. It was the first of the fantasy situation comedies prevalent on American television in the mid-1960s featuring characters who could do extraordinary things. Its premise was that a human-appearing extraterrestrial in a one-man spaceship nearly collides at high altitude with the U.S. Air Force's rocket plane the North American X-15. The spaceship's pilot is a 450-year-old anthropologist from Mars. Tim O'Hara a young newspaper reporter for The Los Angeles Sun is on his way home from Edwards Air Force Base where he had gone to report on the flight of the X-15. Returning home to Los Angeles O'Hara spots the same silver spaceship crash land nearby. Tim takes in the Martian saying to other people that he is Tim's uncle Martin. The Martian refuses to reveal any of his special traits to humans other than Tim to avoid both publicity and human panic. Tim agrees to keep the Martian's Earth identity a secret while he attempts to repair his spaceship. Uncle Martin has various unusual powers: he can raise two retractable antennae from the back of his head and become invisible; he is telepathic and can read and influence minds; he can levitate objects with the motion of his index finger; he can communicate with animals; he can freeze people or objects; and he can speed himself and other people up to do any kind of work. Also an inventor Uncle Martin builds several advanced devices such as a time machine that transports Tim and the Martian to England in the Middle Ages and other times and places such as St. Louis in 1849 and the early days of Hollywood and brings Leonardo da Vinci and Jesse James into the present. Another device he builds is a "molecular separator" that can take apart the molecules of a physical object or rearrange them making a squirrel into a human. Another device can take memories and store them in pill form to "relearn" them later. Other devices create temporary duplicates or levitate Martin and others without the need of his index finger. Cecchetto Claudio
Il talento è un dono il successo un mestiere
ill., br.

Sette segreti
ill., br. Siete pronte a confidarmi tutti i vostri segreti?".
