‎SECONDE ÉDITION, en fait remise en vente de l'édition originale parue en 1630 chez Anthoine Robinot, avec un nouveau titre à la date de 1638. Elle est illustrée de 79 FIGURES sur bois, quelques-unes géométriques, la plupart narratives, certaines à caractère nettement emblématique. Cet ouvrage est un commentaire des "Récréations mathématiques" publiées à Pont-à-Mousson en 1624 sous le pseudonyme de H. Van Etten [Jean Leurechon]. La troisième partie est entièrement nouvelle et contient «a collection of many pleasant and recreative inventions of fireworks including the manner of making all kinds of rockets, single and double, with their composition all represented by figures » (Philip). La quatrième partie contient les Notes de Denis HENRION. Claude MYDORGE (1585-1647), qui était l'ami de Descartes et l'aidait à fabriquer des instruments d'optique, enrichit de ses remarques le traité de Jean Leurechon (1591-1670), l'un des premiers en langue française. Les récréations sont présentées sous forme de problème dont l'énoncé doit exciter la curiosité du lecteur : "Représenter en une chambre close tout ce qui se passe par dehors", par exemple. « A friend of Descartes and an eminent geometer, Mydorge was also well versed in optics. He possessed a lively curiosity and was open to all the new ideas of his age. Segni d'uso alla legatura: fenditura lungo tutta la cerniera anteriore e nella parte superiore di quella posteriore, abrasioni alla carta che ricopre i piatti, in particolare lungo i bordi. I problemi alle cerniere non pregiudicano comunque la solidità e la tenuta della legatura. Con 38 figure e 53 tavole numeriche nel testo. Nell'angolo superiore interno delle pagine fino alla 49, leggero alone, color marrone chiaro, confinato nel margine bianco (giunge a sfiorare il testo solo in qualche pagina). ‎Introduzione alle lezioni di fisica sperimentale letta dal Professore Andrea Naccari nella R. Universita' di Torino il di' 6 novembre 1878‎

‎In 16, pp. 64. Br. ed. Raro testo di Andrea Naccari, titolare di cattedra a Torino, il testo su cui testo su cui Angelo Battelli studio' fisica all'universita': 'La fisica italiana ottocentesca salvo alcune eccezioni, principalmente il Mossotti, fu soprattutto fisica sperimentale, aliena da ipotesi e da formalismi matematici troppo raffinati. Fusinieri, Felici, Matteucci, Naccari, Blaserna, pur con le dovute differenze reciproche, furono tutti esponenti di una mentalita' positiva che trova una delle sue piu' limpide e significative espressioni nella 'Introduzione alle lezioni di fisica sperimentale' (1878) di Andrea Naccari: tutte le teorie sono giudicate 'congetture', necessariamente incomplete, imprecise...' ('Scienza e filosofia. Saggi in onore di Ludovico Geymonat', p. 697). Naccari fu l'assertore piu' convinto, quindi, di una fisica estremamente sperimentale, di uno sperimentalismo puntiglioso, meticoloso, impregnato di spirito 'positivo', tutto reso alla scoperta dei fatti.‎
