Februar 1964 in Tübingen) war ein deutscher Psychiater. Er erforschte die menschliche Konstitution und stellte eine Typenlehre auf. … Mit seiner Konstitutionstypologie führte Kretschmer 1921 die Unterscheidung zwischen den Typen des Leptosomen, des Pyknikers und des Athletikers ein. Zwischen 1915 und 1921 entwickelte Kretschmer darauf basierend eine Methode zur Differenzialdiagnose von Schizophrenie und Manie. … (wiki) // … Als Verursachung der Schizophrenie nimmt Kretschmer "komplizierte Dysfunktionen der Keimdrüse in Korrelation mit dem endokrinen Gesamtapparat und dem Gehirn" an. Bei den zirkulären Psychosen aber seien endokrine Momente dieser Art weniger von Bedeutung als "Beziehungen mit dem allgemeinen Körpergehalt", Fettstoffwechsel, Eingeweidedrüsen usw. Für diesen bedeutsamen Unterschied in der humoralen Genese der beiden Grundtemperamente sei maßgebend, daß "die seelischen Wirkungen der einzelnen Blutdrüsen sich vorwiegend auf der psychästhetischen Skala bewegen, während sie in der diathetischen Proportion viel weniger zum Ausdruck kommen". Als Belege für die stärkere endokrine Bedingtheit der schizothymen Gruppe werden Analogien im Seelenleben der Eunuchoiden und der Schizothymiker sowie solche der hyperästhetischen Nervosität bei Basedow und der Pubertät mit dem alternativen Charakter und Pathos der Schizothymiker herangezogen. Nach Kretschmer ist das Temperament eines Menschen, abgesehen von seinem Gehirozustand, von zwei großen Hormongruppen abhängig, von denen die eine der diathetischen, die andere der psychästhetischen Affektskala, allgemeiner gesagt, die eine den zyklothymen, die andere den schizothymen Temperamenttypen korrespondiert Während beim Durchschnittsmenschen diese Hormongruppen gemischt seien, entstünden die ausgesprochenen Zyklothymiker und Schizothymiker mit ihrer einseitigen Verstärkung einer Hormongruppe entweder durch vereinzelte Vererbungsvarianten oder durch konsequente familienweise Herauszüchtung. … (S. 35)
