Literature and Media: After 1989. Cross-Roads, Polish Studies in Culture, Literary Theory, and History (23). Translated by Andrzej Wojtasik.
Wie neu / As new. - This book discusses the direction of changes in contemporary culture at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries in Poland on the example of mutual relationships between literature and the media, such as film, radio, TV and the Internet. The interdisciplinary approach adopted by the author combines literary and media studies with the perspectives of social communication, anthropology and sociology of culture. I’he book focuses on topics such as reconfiguration of culture, expansion of the media, situation of literature and the central place of audio-visual parallels (auteur film. TV series, PC games). The author notes that both literature and the media are situated between art and communication today and both share the meta-cultural role of natural languages. ISBN 9783631800553

Cambridge Massachusetts: John Wilson and Son University Press 1887. Large-Paper Copy. 8.5" wide by 10.75" tall. Very Good condition overall. Fine condition internally. A square tight copy with perfectly sound inner hinges. The book is bound in the original pebble-grain reddish-brown cloth. Gilt stamping on the spine is still bright. The front cover has a shallow groove or indentation not too obtrusive -- 1/8th inch wide 4.5 inches long cloth is not punctured. There is some light scattered foxing on the endpapers and on the edges of the text block. However all text pages are clean crisp and unmarked with NO foxing. No underlining. No highlighting. No margin notes. NO owner's name or bookplate. This is the first appearance in print of David Zeisberger's dictionary of the Onondaga Iroquois and Delaware Algonquin languages.
