C. Cocchi (1695-1758) war Arzt in Florenz und vorher Professor für Philosophie und Physik in Pisa. Cocchi verbrachte drei Jahre in England, wo er auch Newton kennenlernte. Er war Vegetarier und der erste italienische Mediziner, der erkannte, dass Skorbut durch einen Mangel an frischem Obst oder Gemüse (Vitamin C) ausgelöst wurde. A comprehensive and detailed work, it was prepared by Cohnheim from his lectures and includes extensive and up-to-date bibliographies throughout the two-volume set.' - Das verdienstvolle Hauptwerk Cohnheims in der maßgeblichen zweiten Auflage, die die damals neuesten Forschungsergebnisse berücksichtigt. - Julius Cohnheim (1839-84) war in Berlin Assistent bei Virchow, wirkte von 1867-72 als Prof. der patholog.
