1862. 7 p., 1 lithographed plate and several white sheets, contemporary half calf with gilt title on spine, marbled flyleaves. Published in: Journal de Conchyliologie Scarce monograph, with one new species of Scissurellidae from the Paris Bassin Eocene. Written by Charles Philippe Ernest Munier Chalmas (1843-1903), who also had a species of Scissurella named after him. The paper was published at a time, apparently, when the Journal de Conchyliologie was issued in very low numbers. A very scarce offprint of the volume X issue of October 1862, pp. 391-397, and pl. XVI. A very good, nicely bound copy.

The important wrappers with pages in Roman numbering – often discarded by bookbinders – are included at rear. Authors include Dall, Pilsbry, Henderson, Simpson, Maxwell Smith, Clapp, F.C. Baker, Preston, De la Torre, etc.

The frontispiece shows a portrait of the author, who died before the volume was published. The large plates show hundreds of usually well-preserved specimens, in life-size or highly enlarged.
