Canard pédagogique illustré.
Rouen, Émile Périaux, (vers 1820) ; 32 x 44 cm., Double canard dont les deux sujets sont séparés par un double filet. La partie supérieure porte une notice imprimée sur une colonne sur la vie des habitants du Kamtchatka, elle est illustrée d'une gravure sur bois rehaussée d'aquarelle rouge et jaune, montrant les Kamtschadales en compagnie de leurs chiens. Le second canard concerne le requin, texte sur 3 colonnes illustration en noir. Pas dans Hélot, semble manquer à toutes les collections. Provient de la collection P. L. Duchartre (cachet au dos). Quelques fentes réparées au dos, petites taches et rousseurs.

Contient également de nombreux autres articles sur la météorologie, la physique, l’électricité, l’astronomie, les maladies épidémiques de 1749, les techniques de filage de la soie des cocons, l’entomologie, la botanique et l’anatomie - Imprimerie Royale, Paris, 1753 (rare first edition, not be confused with the small format Amsterdam edition of 1757). [viii] + 192 + 560 pp., 18 folded engraved plates (numbered 1 to 13, 13*, 14 to 17), several vignettes, contemporary full marbled calf, gold tooled spine, marbled end paper, leather at head of spine missing, few foxing otherwise tight binding, overall good condition. The volume contains in particular an interesting article on shark teeth (with 3 plates), entitled "Research on the uses of the large number of teeth of the Canis carcharias" by François David Hérissant (1714, Rouen - 1773, Paris), physician, anatomist, professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris, member of the Royal Academy of Sciences. It also contains many other articles on meteorology, physics, electricity, astronomy, epidemic diseases, techniques for spinning silk from cocoons, entomology, botany and anatomy.
