Marbled endpapers. Volume two with upper corned of front cover with water damage (loss of leather) and in a lesser degree the back cover as well. Outer corner of volume four damaged with some loss. Volume two with water damage / waterstained to 30 pages in upper corner and becoming gradually less, the last 40 pages also with waterstain in upper corner. Volume four with waterstain in upper corner of first 70 or so pages. The plates are clean, and the spines are nice with bold lettering. In case of doubt please ask me for photographs of the work. Despite its defects a rare complete set!

Questa riproduzione è tratta da un raro originale a colori. L'introduzione contribuisce a collocare l'opera nel suo contesto storico e sociale offrendoci informazioni riguardo l'affascinante tradizione dei gabinetti delle curiosità in cui si inserisce la collezione di Seba.

Publ. no. 12.The Imperial Bureau of Mycology was established in 1920 as a centre for accumulating and disseminating information on plant pathogenic fungi in the British empire and for undertaking systematic research into such fungi. It was initially based in Kew, but in 1930 moved ito the Royal Botanic Gardens, and was renamed the Imperial Mycological Institute. In 1948, it changed its name to the Commonwealth Mycological Institute and in 1986 to the International Mycological Institute. In 1998 it was assimilated by CAB International. Their publications ''Mycological Papers'' began with no. 1, published in 1925; ceased with no. 176, published in 2001.
