Dorsi a scomparti con tassello autore e numero tomo in oro . Dorsi restaurati Il primo volume è stato ricucito e legato con i suoi piatti e dorso originali; angolo inf. piatto del secondo volume con piccola rottura; Modeste gallerie di tarli al margine bianco del primo volume per 50 pp.e dal secondo volume per le prime 50 pp. ed alla base delle tavv.. Il primo volume ha una diffusa gora con efflorescenze della carta al bordo bianco inferiore e normale leggero foxing della carta al secondo volume. Nel complesso l'opera si presenta genuina e nonostante i difetti dichiarati abbastanza ben conservata. Particolarmente fresche e dettagliate le belle tavv. di insetti, farfalle e crostacei incise al fine del secondo volume. Opera di entomologia piuttosto rara del botanico, medico Vincenzo Petagna (Napoli 1730-1810) professore all'Universtà di Napoli , direttore dell'Orto botanico di Monte Oliveto.
