"d'attente" en papier d'époque, le livre se trouve dans un emboîtage-coffret moderne en papier gris clair avec auteur et titre dorés sur pièce de titre rose sur dos, XVI - 424 pp., ill. d'une gravure en taille-douce en frontispice, représentant l'assemblée de l'Etat-Major des Gobe-Mouches, Avertissement de l'éditeur, Errata, Epitre dédicatoire de l'éditeur, Statuts de la Société des Gobes-Mouches, Un ouvrage typique de "l'Esprit français" de la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Curieux ouvrage écrit sur le mode "burlesque" sur la "Société des Gobes Mouches", uniquement composée de gourmets. Moucheron étant un pseudonyme cachant Alphonse, Toussaint, Josephe, André, Marie MARSEILLE, comte Fortia de Piles (1758 - 1826). Grimod de La Reynière étant repris dans les statuts comme secrétaire de cette société et dont Louis-Sébastien Mercier était le Garde des Sceaux. L'auteur est le seul témoin occulaire à faire une description authentique des fameux repas "semi-nutritifs" organisés par Grimod de La Reynière. Livre très important pour la connaissance de la "gastronomie" du début du XIXe siècle en France. Bien complet du frontispice gravé par Mariage, qui est souvent absent. cette gravure représente un repas où huit gourmets sont attablés. Un des convives n'est autre que Grimod de La Reynière, que l'on peut reconnaître par la perruque "ancien régime" qu'il porta même après la Révolution ! Très RARE. Cet exemplaire est dans son "jus" de l'époque. Non rogné avec bords salis mais heureusement avec de grandes marges. Papier en bon état avec quekques traces d'anciennes mouillures; frontispice en très bon état, bien complet de la signature manuscrit de l'éditeur.
