TAJ-AL-DIN AL-SUBKÎ (Abu Nasr Taaj-al-Din Abd al-Wahhâb al-Subkî), (1327-1370).
Mu'îdü'n-ni'âm: Makam ve meslek ahlâki. Edited and prep. by Harun Yilmaz, Muhammet Enes Midilli, Halit Özkan.
New Turkish Original bdg. HC. Roy. 8vo. (24 x 17 cm). In Turkish. 310 p. Mu'îdü'n-Ni'âm: Makam ve meslek ahlâki. Edited and prep. by Harun Yilmaz, Muhammet Enes Midilli, Halit Özkan. Al-Subkî known simply as Ibn al-Subki was a leading Islamic scholar, a faqih, a mu?addith and a historian from the celebrated al-Subki family of Shâfi'î 'ulamâ, during the Mamluk era. Tâj al-Dîn al-Subkî was born and educated in Cairo, Egypt, in 1327 (727 AH). He was first educated by his father, the celebrated scholar Taqî al-Dîn al-Subkî. At age 11 years he joined his father in Damascus, where he studied under the leading scholars of his day, such as the historian al-Dhahabi and the jurist Ibn al-Naqîb. Aged 18 he became a mudarris (professor) and kha?ib at the Umayyad Mosque. In his late twenties he began to assist his father as qa?i (Chief judge) of Syria, and on his father's retirement to Cairo in 1354, he replaced him as qa?i of Damascus. He also held the title Mufti In 1357 he was removed from office but reinstated several months later. In 1368 he was jailed for misappropriation of funds. Following a petition by friends, he was released after 80 days and seems to have been exonerated. He died of the plague in 1370 (771 AH) aged 44 years. Mu'îdü'n-Ni'âm "i.e. The restorer of favours and the restrainer of chastisements", treats 113 trades, professions and offices of the author's own time, in the light of how their exponents should behave in order to recover God's favour.

TEO GRÜNBERG, (1927-).
Language, logic, and empirical knowledge: Collected papers, 1965-2005.
New English Paperback. Cr. 8vo. (20 x 14 cm). In English. 196 p. Language, logic, and empirical knowledge: Collected papers, 1965-2005. This collection consists of sixteen articles written in English by Teo Grünberg, who is one of the most distinguished logicians and analytic philosophers in Turkey. The basic motivation that lies behind the idea of putting these articles together in a separate volume is the utmost difficulty of access to many of the periodicals in which the articles are published, primarily because of the reason that their electronic versions are not available.

TEVFIK FIKRET, (1867-1915).
[NEW ZEALAND'S GREEN LAND: UTOPIA OF THE OTTOMAN INTELLIGENTSIA] Yesil Yurt. [Servet-i Funoun: Journal Illustre Turc Paraissant Le Jeudi, Constantinople, No: 418, Vol. 15]. Directed by Ahmed Ihsan.
Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original illustrated wrappers. Folio. (33 x 24 cm). In Ottoman script (Old Turkish with Arabic letters). 32 p., richly ills. First published in any form of this symbolist poem, is the manifest of the attempt to settle in New Zealand by falling into pessimism, written during Sultan Abdülhamid II's tyranny period between two Constitutionalist regimes in the Imperial Ottoman, by Servet-i Fünûn literary scene leading of Ottoman poet Tevfik Fikret and his friends like Mehmed Rauf, Hüseyin Kadri, Dr. Esad Pasa, Hüseyin Cahit, Süleyman Nesip, Ahmet Hikmet Müftüoglu. In the westernization period, there is an escape especially the Servet-i Fünuncus to New Zealand, Scotland, and Finland. This escape can be seen as both alienation and help-seeking. Historical point of view, sociological research and in-depth analysis personal sufferings of intellectuals who attempted to escape can provide true findings and information, which can light this period, about the dualism of these intellectuals and their attempts to escape. Tevfik Fikret is one of the pioneers who symbolize this escape. Fikret does not leave the homeland, but in much poetry, he attributes a mission of escape and rescue to places in his poem. Places, where this mission is the most intense, are streets, Asiyan, grave, mosque, Istanbul, the parliament, palace, garden, and village. The first utopian texts in Turkish literature were dreams written in an effort to save the declining Ottoman State. In the period of Servet-i Fünûn [i.e. The Wealth of Sciences], which was a time of crisis, some utopias such as the Yesil Yurt [i.e. Green Land]. Fikret decided to go to New Zealand (after Manisa city) with friends from his literary circle. After a while, he changed his mind and began to construct a special house for his family on the Bosphorus, which he called "Asiyan" (meaning close friends). Asiyan was finished in 1906. New Zealand carries all the characteristics of a utopian place in this poem by Tevfik Fikret. (Utopias from the Middle East 13).
