Einband gering berieben. Vorsatzpapier gebräunt und im vorderen Innenfalz etwas eingerissen (Bindung jedoch fest). 4 Blatt im weißen Außensteg leicht knickspurig und mit winzigen Einrissen (der größte davon ca. 4 mm). Insgesamt gutes bis sehr gutes Exemplar mit sehr gut erhaltenen Original-Grafiken. 5th edition, newly revised with the collaboration of Karl Schwarz. 10th?14th thousand. With the bound-in original etchings "Eislauf" by Max Liebermann and "Marc Chagall" by Hermann Struck, the original woodcut "Aus der Walpurgisnacht" by Ernst Barlach, and the original lithograph "Mädchenbildnis" by Oskar Kokoschka, along with numerous black-and-white illustrations, some full-page. Binding slightly rubbed. Endpapers darkened, with a small tear in the front inner hinge (binding remains firm). Four leaves with slight creasing and tiny tears in the outer white margin (largest approx. 4 mm). Overall, a good to very good copy with very well-preserved original prints.‎

Unter dem Vorsitz des Hamburger Philosophieprofessors Jacob Werenberg angefertigte Dissertation über die Thesen der beiden Gelehrten Petrus Ramus (1515 - 1572, Humanist) und Johannes Piscator (1546 - 1625, Humanist; reformierter Theologe; Pädagoge) zur Lehre des Aristoteles und dessen Gottesbegriff. - Zum Autor Johannes Herphard konnten wir nichts eruieren. - Äußerst selten, über KVK konnten wir kein einziges Exemplar in Bibliotheken nachweisen. Typ." - Selten. VD 17 verzeichnet nur 8 Exemplare in deutschen Bibliotheken. In alphabetischer Anordnung werden die Werke von ca. 110 gekrönten Häuptern, Kirchenfürsten und Adligen, meist des europäischen Raums, seit der Antike beschrieben. - Der lutherische Theologe Löscher (1673-1749) legte durch ein Studium der Philologie und Geschichte zu Wittenberg und Jena das Fundament zu einer universalen Bildung, die sein theologisches Interesse erst langsam zum Vorschein kommen ließ. Er war Superintendent in Jüterbog und Delitzsch, 1707 Professor zu Wittenberg, zwei Jahre später Superintendent und Oberkonsistorialassessor in Dresden, ein wichtiger Vertreter der lutheranischen Orthodoxie. Löscher war der bedeutendste Gegner des aufkommenden Pietismus, wobei er Forderungen der 'praxis pietatis' aufnahm, sich jedoch gegen die dogmatische Indifferenz wehrte. Nach 1723 wehrte er sich auch gegen den Deismus und trat der Philosophie Chr. Wolffs entgegen. Ferner war er der Herausgeber der ersten theologischen Zeitschrift und Verfasser von etwa 120 Kirchenliedern. Vgl.
