Image depicts two men with rolled-up sleeves preparing to fight; with two other men standing by directly one with what appears to be a watch or timer the other also timing or perhaps ready to start the match; a younger lad stands by with a kerchief or small flag perhaps to drop as the start; in the background three women look on and 2 younger children; the action all taking place in a woods-surrounded field; cabinet card in oblong format approx. 5 1/8" x 8 3/8" size including the mount; beige cardstock mount card with gilt edges; no place photographer or studio noted; a little dustiness soil on mount; in very good condition; in very good condition and interesting amateur boxing imagery from the latter part of the 19th century. Pretoria S.A. and another identified as of Toledo Spain this trimmed to 12 1/2" length - these 4 with the photographer's name & exhibition notes on back including the technical information Rolleiflex - also with 13 images of Alaska - 1 of the U.S. post office log building at Ft. Yukon 1 of the Kodiak City Dock and 2 of large totem poles site unidentified - the balance of the Alaska large-format images of glacier lakes fishing apparatus stream; the rest of the large format images are 11 ruins & scenery presumably in Central America unidentified one cropped smaller and one a blow-up of a scene; 2 copies of a man in a kilt wearing military decorations; and 4 images of what appear to be European locations & memorials & one of a staged scene of a Caucasian woman dancing in a harem outfit on sand dunes; with 72 8" x 10" images including 37 Alaska views including one of Mt. McKinley inscribed in 1953 to Hurley by E.A. Lanees. indecipherable smaller versions of the Ft.
