Very good. - Two 10-1/2 inch high by 7-7/8 inch wide contact sheets each illustrated with 25 images of female nudes mounted on 12-5/8 inch high by 9-1/2 inch wide light green board. Titled "Act-Aufnahmen fur Bildhauer und Maler / Katalog zu Coll. E. / Fortsetzung" along the top edge of the contact sheet. Each is further identified as Nr. 30 and Nr. 54 along the bottom with the following annotation printed under the images "Die Original-Photographien sind in Cabinetformat aufgenommen und stets vorrathig". These 2 sheets are illustrated with a total of 50 albumen photographs mostly nude women in various artistic poses. There is some minor rubbing to the photographs with slight soiling to the edges of the contact sheets and a small stain to the bottom of sheet number 54. The edges of the mounts are slightly stained and soiled. Very good. <p>Attributed to Hermann Heid these sheets served as part of a catalog from which buyers could select individual images to be produced as cabinet-size photographs.</p><p>The Austrian photographer manufacturer and publisher Hermann Heid born 1834 was also a chemist. Considered one of the most versatile photographers in Austria Heid published his images of architecture nudes and genre scenes for the use of artists. He took part in the World's Fair in Vienna in 1873 and that held in Paris in 1878 where he marketed his photographs to international buyers.</p> [Vienna, Austria], circa [1880].

Ephemera included either tipped-in or loosely laid-in: family-related newspaper clippings; a few greeting cards; several amateur 'portraits' and designs in pencil; Sunday School & grammar school diplomas; a 1938 Piano Recital program "by the Progressive Series Pupils of Mrs. Katherine Kilpatrick"; and a few genealogical notes.The photographs contained in a textured brown cloth side-string bound hardcover 'Scrap Book' approx. 10" x 13" size; the pages within are browned paper crumbling at edges. most of the leaves now loose. The photographs are in various sizes averaging approx. 4 " x 6" 3" x 5" and some small 'photobooth' size with a few larger & smaller formats.
