E Gorton / these records of my favorite season / with best wishes for a Merry Christmas / from Rudolf Eickemeyer Jr. / The Ranch Room / Yonkers NY / Dec. 25th 1903." Charles E. Gorton was an eminent educator and Yonkers' second Schools Superintendent. Gorton High School is named after him. A clean otherwise unmarked copy hardcover bound in green-gray paper over boards with gray cloth spine. Printed photographic pastedown centered on front board between stamped white titles. Internally near fine - pages clean and unmarked. Small stains to front endpapers not affecting the inscription. Cover is good - clean with moderate edge wear including bumps and scuffs to edges. Pastedown is clean with only a few light rubs white titles are clear and strong. Top corners on thumb edge are bumped and heavily worn with fray to board. Spine cloth is frayed at ends and partially torn along the front hinge. Binding is tender and fragile. The front hinge is broken the rear hinge is intact. The cover is attached to the book and all pages are holding though there is looseness between some of the gatherings. A remarkable collection by this important American pictorialist photographer. Introduction by Sadakichi Hartmann. Signed copies are very scarce. 10 x 14-1/2"; v 50 pages. Signed by Author/Photographer. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. R.H. Russell Hardcover
