‎Belle impression en bâtardes gothiques à l'adresse de Pierre Sergent partagée la même année avec Denys Janot et les Angeliers. Titre rouge et noir dans un encadrement fait de quatre bordures, au verso duquel se trouve un bois sur fond criblé et à, pleine page (Te Deum).Imprimé une première fois en 1499, « le Dialogue de consolation entre l'âme et raison du moine natif d'Évreux François Le Roy, religieux de l'ordre de Fontevrault est l'exemple d'un dialogue intérieur à la manière des Soliloquia et d'inspiration strictement religieuse : les maux à consoler sont ici les souffrances spirituelles et les affres de la tentation » (Alexandre Tarrête, Remarques sur le genre du dialogue de consolation à la Renaissance). Each edition cost 3.50 francs and contained four original lithographic prints in wrappers designed by Mucha. Around two thousand of each of the 24 fascicles were produced bringing affordable prints largely in an Art Nouveau style to the masses.It is not to be confused with another publication of the same name which was published over five fascicles between November 1895 and March 1896 by Loÿs Delteil. ‎New York: Orientalia Incorporated 1924 1924. First edition limitation not stated. OCLC records 17 copies in three separate records none outside the U.S. The leaves overall are very good condition with the expected occasional staining and wear to the edges most notably in the Arabic manuscript on vellum browning and worming to a few of the older leaves; the portfolio boards are slightly worn. Portfolio 37 x 27 cm printed paper label on the upper cover. 20 examples of printed and manuscript leaves 18 single and two double leaves from the 14th to the 19th centuries each with a small printed label identifying the leaf neatly affixed to the lower margin or verso. A wide-ranging and interesting collection of Asian manuscript and printed leaves issued as a leaf book; the only commentary is in the identification of the leaves. From the few copies that have come onto the marketplace in recent years it appears that the contents vary somewhat from copy to copy. The examples in this copy date are from both sacred and secular sources. The earliest is a leaf from a 14th century Arabic manuscript on vellum; the most recent is a leaf from a manuscript of the Saddharma Pundarika Sutra in Chinese copied by a Japanese priest in 1834. Other examples include a leaf from a Japanese manuscript on secret Buddhist rites written in Chinese by a priest at Kya-san and dated 1571; a leaf from a Persian manuscript containing the Poems of Nidhami dated 992 of the Muhammadan era - or about 1584; a leaf from a Persian manuscript Miraj Nama describing Muhammad's ascent to heaven dated H. 1046 or 1636 A.D.; a leaf from Indian religious manuscript containing extracts from the Puranas in Sanskrit 18th century; a double leaf in Chinese characters printed in Korea probably 18th century which contains Buddhist scriptures as interpreted by the Syen sect; and a printed leaf from a Chinese medical work of the 17th century. A complete list of the leaves is available. Orientalia Incorporated was a bookseller and publisher in New York that specialized in all things Asian during the first half of the 20th century. Among other notables they published the works of Yone Noguchi. ‎Édition originale sortie des presses de Hubert Raoult, prototypographe de Charleville (1628) en association avec Gédéon Poncelet nommé en 1642 imprimeur de Charles de Gonzague, duc de Mantoue, établi à Charleville en 1645.Michel Lecomte (1582?-1648) fut ordonné prêtre à Liège avant d'entrer dans l'ordre de saint-Jérôme ; vicaire général du supérieur des hiéronymites en Italie, il avait fondé un ermitage à Mont-Calvaire près de Charleville (1629) ; il est l'auteur du Portraict des ames cherubines où se voyent leurs faces, & leurs ailes, et de cet ouvrage qu'on dit avoir été traduit d'un ouvrage latin de la composition du père Balducci.Superbe reliure en maroquin décoré du XVIIe siècle dans le goût de Le Gascon ou Macé Ruette selon Esmerian qui précise pour une reliure anonyme d'une facture comparable (II, 75) « mais probablement exécutée à Lyon ».Ex-libris couronné à la gerbe chargé de trois étoiles légèrement différent des armoiries de Fauconnet de Vildé décrites par Olivier Hermal Roton, (pl. 1654) ; monogramme C couronné sur les plats non identifié.Deux cachets "Bart. Mid-century metal electrotype mounted on inch-thick hardwood blocks. Some darkening mostly to background from ink. $750. The smaller block which has a well-rubbed but legible printing of the plate mounted to the verso is from a collection of Parisian coutumes: Le Stille de Chastellet pour Monstrer a ung Chacun Qlle Ordre est en Court Laye de Proceder en la Ville. This book appears to by from an edition printed in Paris by Guillaume Nyverd sometime around 1509-1519. It depicts a lawyer pleading before a judge while a scribe records his words. The image on larger block appears to be from a chivalric romance. A woman holding flowers is approaching a knight. Cupid hovering above the lady is shooting an arrow at him. A dog and a rabbit symbols of faith and fidelity stand by her feet. unknown‎
