The best and entirely revised edition by De la Marre, incorporting the new discoveries by Duhamel and others. This was by far the most popular and important work on domestic economy in the 18th century, dealing with domestic chemistry, the keeping and caring of domestic animals, recipes for food and home-made medicine, beauty and health suggestions. It is of course also an attractive and illustrated dictionary on agriculture, gardening, botany, huntig, breading of animals, bee-keeping, vineyards, gastronomy, hunting, and so forth and alphabetically arranged. The work enables a person to be completely self-supporting and to produce for a market.'Le Dictionnaire oeconomique a joui d'une grande réputation. Il est même encore estimé aujourd'hui. Mais il faut considérer cet ouvrage dans deux états differens, tel qu'il était en 1709, lorsqu'il sortit des mains de l'auteur, agé alors de 76 ans, et tel qu'il parut en 1767 par les soins de M. de la Marre. Cette édition est préférable à la première et à celles qui ont paru entre ces deux époques, parceque l'éditeur a eu soin de la corriger et de l'enrichir des découvertes de Duhamel, etc.' (Musset-Pathay, who has a large article on Chomel and his work on page 300-301).

In-8° (cm. 24 ca-), pp. 34. Brossura editoriale. Nitida veste tipografica della grande raffinata scuola del Libro di urbino. Peccato per le cifre a biro vede in cop. Alcune correzioni (che immaginiamo dell'Autore) FRUGONI, che "ghignando" l'Alfieri definì il "pomposo galleggiante scioltista caposcuola", si distinse anche per un "famigerato documento di miserabile antidantismo". per "vita disordinata... troppo spesso trasmormava la divina arte dei versi in un mestiere il più possibile utilitario". Non manca ahimè il colpo di coda di un reboante pistolotto finale di questo Cian, erudito da battaglie di carta, lui sì miserabilmente strisciante sotto il Fascismo dell' "Italia imperiale e mussoliniana" che in quell'anno di disgrazia allude senza dirlo alle leggi razziste in via di apparizone per "salvare e purificare la civiltà europea, avvelenata e sconvolta da una coalizione diabolica di forze distruttive". Ce l'ha con gli Ebrei il miserabile tapino. Tutto il valore di questo opuscolo giace nella veste tipografica urbunate.

Daudet, avocat et bibliophile à Nîmes, et contenant deux lettres autographes de Claudin : - La première lettre est écrite de Grenoble en 1897, pendant la semaine où l'auteur assistait à la vente de la Bibliothèque Salvaing de Boissieu, il sollicite ''un petit renseignement confidentiel'' concernant une bibliothèque que désire vendre une dame de Nîmes. - La seconde est écrite de Charenton en 1900, l'auteur vient de terminer sa grande ''Histoire de l'Imprimerie en France'' et a enfin le temps de s'occuper de sa correspondance; Claudin évoque les déboires de madame Sury qui a quitté son mari, et demande quelques conseils, il se propose également, d'offrir un exemplaire de son ouvrage sur l'imprimerie à Poitiers, dont il offre les derniers exemplaires à ses amis.
