It is rubbed particularly at the spine the ends of which are frayed and the edges of which are beginning to split. There is marginal damp stain on the bottom spine of the last 20 pages or so. It has pale yellow end papers and 327 320 and 153 minimally toned pages illustrated with black & white drawings bound in brown cloth covered blind stamped Dickens profile boards with darkened gold titles and designs on the spine. The paper on the rear hinge is starting but the hinge is solid It is extensively illustrated with 20 color plates and frontispiece tipped in with captioned tissue guards. It has tan pictorial silhouettes end papers and 359 clear pages with minimal age darkening bound in red cloth covered boards with gold titles on the spine and front. This little 6.5" x 4.5" book is basically clean tight square with pretty good corners and internally unmarked but there is a 1913 gift inscription on the ffep from which we dated the book as it is undated. It has surface soil and is lightly rubbed more so at the spine where there is a split at the edge of the cover. It has 64 minimally toned pages including some ads at the rear illustrated with black & white drawings bound in white tan now cloth covered boards with titles and designs on the spine and front. It is rubbed at the edges and the leather at the joints is aging and the spine covering is beginning to lift in places. There's a very small chip at the bottom. It has blue marbled end papers and 454 bright clear pages gilt edged at the top illustrated with black & white drawings. It has three-quarter bindings with tan leather at the corners and spine. The boards are covered in blue marbled paper. The spine has five raised bands with bright gilt decorations in the panels. The titles are gilt in red & black panes. It is undated but uniform with books published just after Chapman incorporated so we estimated 1880 but it might be bit later.xx Chapman & Hall hardcover
