‎Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (? 1960) a fonde la compagnie de danse Rosas en 1983. Son travail choregraphique est axe sur une exploration minutieuse du lien entre la danse et la musique. Avec Rosas, elle a cree une oeuvre de grande ampleur, qui exploite des structures et partitions musicales de differentes epoques, de la musique ancienne aux compositions contemporaines et a la musique pop. Dans sa pratique choregraphique, elle emprunte aussi des principes formels a la geometrie, aux modeles mathematiques, aux phenomenes naturels et aux structures sociales, afin d'offrir au public une perspective hors du commun sur le mouvement du corps dans le temps et l'espace. En 2007, apres s'etre consacree pendant un certain temps a des performances avec de grands ensembles, De Keersmaeker a modifie son orientation artistique, adoptant d'autres principes, se posant d'autres questions, elaborant d'autres methodes de travail et developpant d'autres points de vue. La photographe Anne Van Aerschot a ete un temoin privilegie de ce processus. Assistante artistique de De Keersmaeker depuis de longues annees, elle a pu suivre son evolution creatrice d'un bout a l'autre. Le langage et l'itineraire de la choregraphe lui sont plus familiers qu'a quiconque. ‎Jan Decorte is geen theatermaker maar een theaterkunstenaar. Wat is het verschil? De kunstenaar m kt niet, hij s. Al wat hij of zij onderneemt, vloeit voort uit die ene existenti le bron die zijn of haar hele leven doordesemt. Decorte s. Jan Decorte ( 9 mei 1950) is nu bijna een halve eeuw actief als theaterkunstenaar. Hij is auteur, regisseur, acteur, scenograaf, ? Stond aan het begin van de Vlaamse Golf. Is bejubeld n verguisd. Een ?warholiaanse? mediafiguur. Maar een boek over Decorte? Een analyse van de thema?s in zijn imposante oeuvre, een beschrijving van zijn turbulente leven? Het bestond niet. Dat had wellicht te maken met zijn dwarse karakter. Hij wou niet, of men durfde er niet aan? Tisof tisni, zo is dat met Decorte. Een monografie over Jan Decorte zou onvolledig zijn zonder een portret van Sigrid Vinks ( 4 januari 1956), zijn partner in leven en werk. Vinks is in dit boek zeer aanwezig. Haar bijdrage aan Decortes werk is veelzijdig: kostuumontwerpster (haar eerste samenwerking met Jan, voor zijn film Hedda Gabler in 1978), vertaalster, dramaturge en sedert 1984 actrice in al zijn voorstellingen. Maar bovenal: inspirator, schutsengel. Zonder Sigrid g n Jan, zo is dat. Maar zonder Jan, geen werk van Jan en Sigrid. Het werk draagt onmiskenbaar Jans signatuur. Dit is een polyfoon boek. Er hebben enkele tientallen auteurs aan meegewerkt en die meerstemmigheid zorgt voor evenveel tonen, stijlen, invalshoeken. Het boek opent met twee uitgebreide biografische interviews. Daarna worden de thema?s van Decortes werk uitgespit in dertien essays. Tot slot volgt een chronologische beschrijving van het oeuvre. Deze bevat ook een groot aantal getuigenissen van mensen die met Decorte hebben samengewerkt. En in de vele citaten uit interviews en recensies wordt ook een stuk receptiegeschiedenis getekend. Dit boek is het tweede boek in de reeks T-boeken.‎

‎Summary As the forerunners to the Paris Opera, the Acad mie d'op ras (1669-1672) and the Acad mie royale de musique (1672-1791) inspired first historical then aesthetic research, research that appeared very steadily through the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, researchers and performers alike began to change their perspective on the institution and its legacy, shifting away from the Acad mie's image as a tool used in the propaganda machine and towards a focus on aspects of performance practice. However, despite the scale and diversity of the current body of scholarship, many facets of the Acad mie royale de musique remain unexplored. It was first and foremost a cultural institution, one that developed its own identity and savoir-faire, some aspects of which still need to be uncovered. ? This study aims to reconsider the institution from a new angle, thanks to an interdisciplinary approach and three sustained motivations: questioning the institution's very nature, as well as its place and status in the French academic network; highlighting practical, logistical, and material questions as yet unexplored; and reevaluating not only its interactions with other theaters in Paris, at court, and in the provinces, but also the ways its repertoire spread in general. For once, poets and composers are not the main subject. We choose to concentrate instead on those who helped the pieces to exist and to come to life: directors and administrators, performers, teachers, and craftsmen. The papers focus on their hierarchical relationships, their decision-making authority, and their respective responsibilities, in order to better understand all that the fashioning of operas entails.
