Nel 1942 insieme a suo fratello minore Toni, intraprese la realizzazione di un cortometraggio dal titolo Tolomeo, film a cui ne seguirono altri e che venne unito in un unico lungometraggio, ultimato nel 1947, dal titolo definitivo de ''I fratelli Dinamite''.Questo è il primo lungometraggio d'animazione italiano, che fu per di più il primo lungometraggio a colori dell'intera cinematografia nazionale. Fu presentato al Festival di Venezia del 1949.
