The Modern Anglo-Bengali Dictionary Volume 6 Vols. Set [Hardcover] Volume 6 Vols. Set
The word ‘Dictionary’ is derived from the Latin word ‘dictionarium’, literally meaning ‘a repertory’ of dictions, i.e., phrases and words. A dictionary is also called a ‘lexion’ and hence the science of compiling dictionaries is called ‘lexicography’. There are a few types of dictionaries. The most common type of a monolingual dictionary may be defined as: “a book dealing with the individual words (or certain specified classes of them) so as to set forth their orthography, pronunciation, signification and use, their synonyms, derivations and history, or at least some of these factors.” The tradition of lexicography is very ancient in India. Since very old times, many lexicons had been written in Sanskrit, some of which have been lost, but a good number survive. The old Sanskrit lexicons are not dictionaries in the modern sense; they are thesauruses of synonyms, antonyms and homonyms. Encyclopaedia of Terrorism in the World Volume 5 Vols. Set [Hardcover] Volume 5 Vols. Set
Terrorism is the most dangerous and sinister threat to the international community today, and has been so for the last some years. In a manner of speaking, it is veritably an existential threat to the mankind. The most extensive, persistent and aggressive genre comes from Jihadist terrorism, which is already spread the world over, from Indonesia in the east to the united states in the west and Scandinavia in the north to Australia in the south. The book deals with the scouge in some select countries of the world, with its implications for the existing world order. The peace and integrity of the world indeed depends upon the way the ruling classes in these countries deal, face and defeat this man-made catastrophe perpetrated by some 'evil'minds. This multi-volume book is a comprehensive study of this 'evil' in all its aspects. Being the first of its kind, given its very size and depth and expanse of the treatment of this all-important subject, it is a unique book to hit the market. For this very reason, it can claim to be a handy reference work for the cognoscente and the common reader interested in the subject. About The Author:- Col.
