Good. pp 4 Programme for the British premiere of Arthur Symons' translation of Electra starring Mrs Patrick Campbell who is pictured alongside 'Miss Stella Patrick Campbell' in half tone photographs tipped onto the inner pages of the programme 'Photo by Rita Martin'. A brief synopsis appears on the final page. The programme is soiled especially close to the foreedge. Hugo von Hofmannsthal adapted Sophocles's tragedy for the stage in Berlin in 1903; his work quickly took on a life of its own inspiring Strauss's opera Elektra and being translated for productions all over Europe. The London premiere also starred several other members of Mrs Campbell's family. Good 1908 New Theatre unknown
