Secondo dei sei volumi trimestrali pubblicati dal febbraio 1832 (precede l’opuscolo col manifesto programmatico nel 1831) al febbraio 1934 da Mazzini esule a Marsiglia. Organo dell’omonima associazione. Il presente volume contiene gli scritti: «I. I collaboratori della Giovine Italia ai loro concittadini», «II. Considerazioni sulla rivoluzione» (siglato Cr.), «III. Osservazioni sulla sentenza pronunciata contro il cav.re Giuseppe Ricci di Modena» (siglato ***), «IV. Dell’Ungheria» (firmato Mazzini e seguito dalla tabella ripiegata della monarchia austriaca), «Miscellanea: ‘Discorso del Signor Krempowiecki, intorno alla rivoluzione Polacca’, ‘II. Stati pontifici - corrispondenza’, ‘III. Toscana - condizione delle cose’, ‘IV. Corrispondenza - due lettere di Sismondi, ec.’, ‘VI. Una memoria’». Molto raro, il periodico circolava clandestinamente in Italia: «Una rissa tra due sottufficiali, affiliati all’associazione, fu causa che la stessa fosse scoperta in Piemonte [...]. Il governo sardo procedette ad arresti [...] e agì severamente con tribunali militari che emanarono numerose condanne di morte (luglio-settembre 1833), dodici delle quali rese esecutive» (Treccani s.v., 1933).

Circa 1930 1930. Very good. - An 9-1/2 inch high by 5 inch wide sheet of cream note paper is inscribed and signed in black ink: "With my best good wishes / John T. McCutcheon / To Seymour Halpern - ". There is some light creasing to the paper with a tiny chip to its right edge & a small piece out of its top edge. Very good. <p>MCCutcheon sends his autograph to future Congressman Seymour Halpern then a young autograph collector.</p><p>While studying at Purdue University American political cartoonist John T. McCutcheon 1870-1949 worked with typographer Bruce Rogers on the student newspaper and yearbook. Moving to Chicago he worked at the Chicago Morning News and then at The Chicago Tribune from 1903 until his retirement in 1946. In 1932 he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Cartoons for his Depression-era cartoon depicting a victim of bank failure.</p><p>The Queens New York Republican Congressman Seymour Halpern 1913-1997 started his political career as a campaign aide to New York's powerful mayor Fiorella La Guardia and first served in New York's State Senate for 14 years before seeking a seat in the U.S. Congress. In Albany Halpern sponsored 279 bills that became law including measures on schools housing civil rights nutrition and mental health. A Liberal he was something of an anomaly as the lone Republican representative from New York City and generally garnered support from Labor Unions and endorsement from the Liberal Party. Yet he never even considered switching parties as he considered membership in the Republican Party a family tradition and commitment. While he found ample time for his private pursuits including painting and collecting autographs he took his legislative duties very seriously. Of these he was proudest of his co-sponsorship of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and of the original 1965 Medicare legislation.</p> Circa [1930]
