Esse accompagnano il lettore nel tormentato e ambizioso progetto schilleriano di presentare "quel concetto oggettivo del bello di cui Kant dispera". La loro lettura si presenta altres� come un'adeguata introduzione al saggio "Grazia e dignit�" pubblicato nello stesso anno nel quale Schiller del resto chiaramente allude al dialogo incompiuto laddove parla di "un'analitica del bello". "Grazia e dignit�" � nella fattispecie il primo e decisivo dei saggi di estetica di Schiller che molto deve alle riflessioni esposte all'amico K�rner. In esso Schiller si confronta con il pensiero di Kant ripensando e sottoponendo a sviluppi definitivi sia la prospettiva estetica della "Critica della facolt� di giudizio" sia la morale kantiana. Nel saggio "Sulla poesia ingenua e sentimentale" pubblicato tra il 1795 e il 1796 Schiller completa quel suo percorso estetico che vede al centro nella rilettura originale di alcuni temi kantiani le questioni della poesia della natura del tragico del sublime e della grazia. Questo scritto ha un profondo significato "simbolico" nel lavoro schilleriano: � infatti non solo l'ultimo dei saggi dedicati ai temi dell'arte e della poesia ma segna anche quello che lui stesso chiama un "congedo dalla teoria ". Proprio per tale motivo � uno scritto che risulta essere in profonda sintonia con la sua produzione "estetica" precedente di cui � quasi un organico "completamento". Ebbe infatti una grande risonanza e un immediato successo. Successo ovviamente favorito dallo "schema" generale dello scritto che si innesta sia sulla gi� utilizzata capacit� schilleriana di costruire il suo pensiero su fortunate "coppie" concettuali sia sul richiamo a una polemica culturale precedente la secentesca Querelle tra Antichi e Moderni che viene pi� o meno esplicitamente "riattivata". Infatti il termine "ingenuo" deriva dagli "effetti" di quella antica e fortunata polemica dal momento che venne utilizzata dal suo fondatore Charles Perrault e pi� volte ripresa nel corso del Settecento in particolare francese.
